How much would it cost to get a strengthened shield? Would it be any cheaper if I provided the shield?

shields are cheap and easy to make, so no to the second part, it would only save you a few silver. Strengthening is an expensive process, a strengthened item will range 7 to 8 gold, which is why they're not usually ordered
