Hello all. Back with more questions. If i have a scholar with 8bp available and:

6
55
444
3333
22222
11111

Does my next buy have to be:

6
555
4444
33333
22222
11111

with 2bp left over or can it be

66
555
4444
3333
22222
11111

Gotcha. So

6
555
4444
33333
22222
11111

With the next two being 6 then 7.

That's not correct.

The gap cannot be wider than one -prior to purchasing the spell slot-.

Page 51 of the ARB:

Further, the pyramid must be constantly building, which means that the level above must have only one less than the amount you are buying.

Based on this, he can totally have a build of

66
555
4444
33333
22222
111111

He could then purchase another 1,2,3,4,5 in that order, and either start back at 1, or purchase a 7th.

If he chose to start back at 1, he wouldn't be able to buy another 5, but he could start yet again!

Then he'd be blocked from 4...etc.

Ok. There is some comfusion. Per the rules a spell pyramid doesn't have to be wider then 4 slots unless you want more.

At this time I have a :
1/6,2/5,3/4,4/3,5/2,5/1

Now the question is. can i buy 4,5,6 or would i have to buy 3,4,5.

I hope that helps fix things.

That just makes it more confusing...

Right now you have 5/5/4/3/2/1.

What was stated already should've answered your question. You can buy either.

5/5/4/4/3/2 is legal? That would imply a split column of 555444333 would be legal. Is that true?

No, the narrowest column you can have is 4... so if you had 555/444/321 you'd have to buy another 7th level, then 8th, 9th, etc (555/444/432-->555/444/443-->555/444/444)

However, you could have 666/555/444.
