Favorite October Moments

I enjoyed our debate very much as well, Izzy, so thank you right back! Even if the lot of you did break poor Alis' brain just a little bit. :)

Dude, so many awesome moments. I normally loathe Halloween, and Halloween-like events, because I hate spooky things and people jumping out at me from the darkness (just ask Jenn about the Maglight and her arm); however, this event had so much excitement and fear that was handled so well, I loved it!
Faves:
  • I oddly enjoyed giving everyone their nightmares and role-play effects. Jesse originally asked John and I to put nightmares in everyone's envelopes, but through miscommunication, we thought he only wanted nightmares in 10 peoples' envelopes. So, Jesse and I had a hurried, freaked-out confab and I volunteered to tell everyone piecemeal. I thoroughly enjoyed pulling people to the side, telling them to stand fast against this terrifying, unnatural evil, then going out-of-game to inflict said evil upon them. Muhahaha!
  • The gorgeous pumpkins carved by the Scions, all of those were a delight. The green light in the exquisitely crafted Rivervale pumpkin was a perfect touch.
  • Friday night nightmare rescue fight - I super enjoyed everything about this fight, including tugging Squire Noah around by his pouch-leash so he didn't go running off away from me and the emerging despair when Blue ran off and we couldn't go after her. Also, putting Lagarde on refit duty after he woke up with no weapons or even claws.
  • Tea set in the secret meeting corner, glorious!
  • Pulling this from Jules' post: during court with the Duchess, "so what are our long-term goals?" Three hours later...followed by the finale of Squire Torin running around the corner shouting "There are fire elementals over there!" I loved running down the hill as paranoid Hobling, being chased by three people (which of course made me run more), then being separated from the tavern and my lunch by a hilltop of fear (and more fire elementals).
  • Watching Izual home-base-slide under a table into the secret meeting corner.
  • Roleplaying the interaction between fire-hatey Darius and fire-lovey Anders who desperately wanted a fire mark. Making the difficult decision, then wondering immediately afterward: "too harsh?"
  • Trial of Phineus, including the THREE counts of "fire elementals? What? Where?" to the point where I decided it wasn't worth it to remain.
  • Troll bridge mod with full earth-mage Rivervale party, whoo! That was super entertaining, especially trying to roleplay fae-racism with Alex, who was just so adorably befuddled. "It's complicated." Also, Brooke Blaine's first kill!
  • MASQUERADE BALL! I was impressed by this last year, but everyone really upped their game! So many wonderful events, including the donut-eating contest, the dancing, the portrait booth, and of course, getting to wander about with my date, Rin-Rin. Not to mention teaching a certain foxkin and his lady fair how to flirt!
  • Hearing Alis sing "I Dreamed a Dream" was beautiful! Leora's voice was lovely, and there were some really poignant moments for my character, as well. Nicely done!
  • Walk of the Dead - This is such a beautiful-yet-terrifying experience, with the bobbing candlelights strung out through the darkness with the stars out above. Adding in Banks getting rifted out, KNOWING that he was going to come back as a death knight (and subsequently scaring several members of the court off into the darkness with their fears, whoops!), dragging Squire Torin through the procession to warn people, then being confronted with undead Banks (for about three seconds before running off myself), was a fun moment of mounting apprehension.
  • Talking to King Coldstone and Dame Albright - such a cool/sad character experience. I loved the opportunity, the revealed storylines coming up, and the paranoid vindication of everything we had been seeing build up with Epyxia, and then the end with the Registrar. I love how Plot supports this PC endeavor.
  • Saturday night cabin raid - ZOMG THIS WAS SO TERRIFYING! I was so grateful about how our team worked together, from Dame Katherine waking everyone up (light sleepers hooray), to Team Front Room buying us time to get up and get glasses on, to Connor's dramatic surge which made the NPCs step back, to Brooke Blaine's ear-piercing shriek, to fighting off four magically-resistant Booglings BY MYSELF. We have a little blinky blue light in the cabin, which caused this fight to alternate between pitch-darkness and backlit LOOMING FIGURES OF DOOM; we couldn't have ASKED for better special effects to make this fight terrifying! The timing on everything worked so perfectly, as Brooke woke me up (after she played dead) in time to check everyone even; having my expectations of everyone just being asleep SHATTERED at finding Noah dead, then asking how long he had until dissipating and hearing, "10, 9..." was horrifying. Brooke really saved the day there by sleeping with her magic item on! All in all, this encounter was well-written, well-executed, and terrifying while not necessarily being horridly deadly; I further enjoyed that it had a logical impetus in-game, both for how they got in and why they were attacking but not killing.
  • Post-cabin raid - Going out with the court in our undies (including Banks with only his briefs and a cloak), then learning the horrid truth about how they had gotten in and how Tiatar had escaped attack (short minions, muhaha!), super amusing. Having Bayenna take the penis pumpkin to their cabin was a charming cherry on top of that whole encounter. Also, "My lord baron, I'm not wearing underwear...." "Ah...well then, carry on."
  • Conversation with Lagarde about chaos and its petty, spiteful nature.
  • Sunday morning nightmare realm - First, THANK YOU to Plot for letting us wait on this until 11, as dead-tired as I was I needed the extra time. That whole fight was so intense and so epic all the way around, that I can't even begin to get to them all! The two special props that I have to give on this are to B, for her litany of abuse and ability to avoid paying attention to shouting combatants while being jostled around, that must have been rough; second, to Trace for Team Perception, winning!
  • Getting to swear Connor and Kendrick in to the court. We had to work hard to get these moments in, there was so much going on; however, they were absolutely worth the effort!
There are probably many more wonderful moments that I've forgotten, and for that I am sorry! Thank you to everyone for such a wonderful event!

I want to thank everyone who is still bearing with my terrible RP and fighting skills! I was hoping to work harder on both this game, but had a bit too much of a lazy Saturday after walking down to Lucky Circle after breakfast service.

I want to thank Warchester for inviting me to their ranks. I'm working on upping my game for you guys!

I loved loved loved all the interactions with Little Bear.

I didn't get to act out my nightmare paranoia much since I wasn't allowed to be near my fear when I was coming up with the Duchess and then I also didn't hear worms much outside during the nightmare realm Sunday.

I thoroughly enjoyed the masquerade even though I still couldn't quite let loose.

To the NPCs that were camping lucky circle just before the start of the ball (Of course during the time for Lumi, Peat and Tab to leave) I have never, ever ran that fast and scared in my life. The second we got no response after calling out Peat and Lumi hoofed it, luckily I'm waaaaaaaay out of shape and we stopped because Tab wasn't up for running so instead we climbed up the hill (not the stairs) in our full garb and I had branches sticking to my face because of my mask and was afraid I'd die because I got stuck. You guys didn't even have to follow us for the fear to live on.

I had 2 amazing moments with Jay as a booglie at the tavern. The first was during the first set of attacks from the back where he made the creepy alalalala sound while making FULL ON unblinking eye contact with me with only a window between us. Followed up a few minutes later when I was trying to get Peat to get up from her awaken spell and we see Little Bear go down, not a soul on the porch beside us, and in absolute frozen terror with no clue what to do Peat and I stare booglie Jay dead on and he just taunted us for a couple minutes before finally, and oh so softly and quietly saying "six sleep" *tap* to the both of us .

I cannot wait to have Peat and Rath be the refit team.

While I froze my *** off during the Walk of the Dead I really enjoyed how into it Jesse and Trace were. I was near the front with King Coldstone and hearing him choke up gave me even more chills.

I also got chills during Jen's speach as the Duchess after we all saved her. I am sad I will miss the follow up next month.

I also enjoyed talking to Brooke at the ball when she informed me I should really find myself a mate from Rivervale as it is a thing in Warchester. :)

Greetings! What a great weekend! Per the norm what follows will be the moments that stick out in my mind the most. As I elaborate my greatest hits of the weekend, and I seem to forget you in my telling of said hits, please do not take it as me forgetting you. Simply, I was exhausted all weekend and my memory retention was not at its best. Anyway, on with the awesomeness!

-Firstly I would like to say THANK YOU to our wonderful and tireless NPCs! You all rock so much and I don't know if you all can ever be praised enough for your efforts. This includes Jesse and Jen and Jay as well. Seriously, we all must tip our hats you all! Hopefully we as PCs can make the events just as fun for you all as it is for us!

-Friday night. Deacon, Nix, Lagarde, a new player/character whom I have sadly forgotten the name of and Squire Brom approached a stark white spirit (played by Quin, who wrote the mod) near the Tavern which started a very fun and well written mod. The spirit was docile and melancholy as she had lost her child prior to her demise deep in the woods. The group of us somberly followed the spirit as it meandered through the woods as if searching for something. The woods were dark and felt thicker than normal (at least to me as Brom has become somewhat paranoid of ambushes in the dead of night... many of you may know why...) which made the trip all the more engrossing. Eventually we stumble upon some skeletal remains (fake bones placed by Quin in an awesome setup) and we each begin to try and collaborate and figure out what happened. Lagarde does most of the detective work after I/Brom spot the remains initially by a stroke of luck (seriously, it was friggin' DARK y'all). We uncover a necklace and find a faint trail left by some Rabbitkin and the missing child. After some discussion we decide it best to try at one of the local orphanages. We had hoped that the Rabbitkin had taken the child, only but a babe at the time of the death of the mother, to one of the orphanages and that something more grizzly didn't happen to the child. Luck was on our side and we did indeed find the child, safe and sound. Later on we went back tot he tavern where upon Abtus had engaged me/Brom in conversation and had heard a rumor about a former soldier, who was at the tavern as luck would have it, and he put 2 and 2 together. A battle broke out, we were all distracted, and Panax had picked up the remains so that he may take them and bury them (per the spirit's instructions). We finished the fight, gathered the Soldier (played expertly by Wolf) and went after him. What followed was a deeply sad reunion with the Soldier and his dead wife's spirit made happier by the revelation that the soldier was a father and we knew where his child was. The whole thing was written well, each player was involved, Quin was PERFECT as the spirit, Wolf pulled at our hearts as the sullen soldier, and the whole encounter was emotionally very rewarding. Zero loot. Zero combat. Yet it was one of the best mods I had been on. Write us some more Quin!

-Standing guard and waiting to speak to her Grace. I had to chuckle as I am, as a player, a bit timid so I waited and waited and waited for a chance to talk to Her Grace but never thought I had a decent opportunity to do so without being rude. Some time later (I swear it felt like 2 hours but who knows), as the Duchess was about to leave, Sir Morningtide (thanks for this by the way Ray) stepped in and spoke up for me/Brom. So, not only did I get my chance to talk to her, but it was done while escorting her back (along with Sir Morningtide). This was my first real interaction with her Grace minus some pleasantries before so was a big deal for Brom. Not only that but being able to do so with Sir Morningtide was all the better. He and Brom had partnered recently for an educational 'mission' to the Tribe of Thou and being able to talk to Her Grace about it with Morningtide present was great. I really enjoyed the talk and RP that went with it. Ray is such a great player and I truly cherish my moments with him.

-I enjoyed watching the diverse and characterful RP that came out of the nightmares/fears all weekend. We shave such a great and emotive group! I was lucky enough to dodge mine... Scarecrows in a corn maze never came up for Brom.

-Becoming a Step-son of Valerion (SP?). Neat little induction ceremony! I am psyched to see where this goes as I very much like the members of the Scions! Good times ahead!

-What I did get to see of the Ball and the participants was awesome! Not much to elaborate upon here but wow we have some truly artistic people in our community!

-There I was. Sleeping. Saturday night. Happily so I might add. Then, I hear the door swing open. Not violently mind you, but as though someone who belongs there is just coming home. Then, my eyes adjust to the light coming through the door just in time to feel something in my belly and hear "5 Sleep". F***. That whole encounter that night was freakin' bad ***. Seriously, I was creeped out I am not afraid to say. The night was quiet save for a single voice trying desperately to call for help. The Booglings going through and putting us in the front to sleep was maddening as we could do nothing for our 'squishies' in the back. Baron Darius and Brooke Blaine are the unsung heroes to my ears (Panax and Bobby I learned later had a hand in things as well though I could see nothing and I could only hear the frantic casting being done by Darius and Brooke. The shrill cackling and disturbing taunting from the Booglings as the encounter moved on added so much creep and atmosphere. Well played all, well played!

-Dame Katherine putting the Squires in charge of a very important mission for which Brom was (barely) voted to be the 'leader' of. A big thing for Brom as it involves his Aunt and Dame Katherine's mother. It is VERY important to him in 2 major ways. I am so freakin' stoked to coordinate with my fellow squires on this task and I can't wait to see what plot does for/to us!

-Escorting a run away back to the orphanage and trying to help her handle bullies. This turned out to be a fun little fish bowl. I am ashamed to say I did not catch the NPCs name but she was fantastic as a ten year old. The PCs with me were great and we had an awesome time bickering amongst ourselves on how best to handle these bullies. Deacon, Nyx, Squire Graham, Lagarde and Brom all had interesting ways to handle the situation. I loved the various character views coming through and though the situation was small there were HUGE insights into the character's ways of thinking that was so rewarding for me. Great times.

-The final battle on Sunday was, by far, my favorite town battle to date. Holy **** that fight was intense. The pressure from the start was high and it became nearly intolerable by the end. The NPCs rocked that battle and we as players (in my opnion) had to fight HARD to keep our **** together. Some of my personal favorite moments during the fight are:
-- Having to slay Dani to get to a fallen Brooke so that we could get her back to her feet.
--Having Brooke BARELY heal me in time, playing dead after the heal, letting the NPCs move past me, and then jumping them from behind as I got back to my feet. I think I manged to get hits on 4 or so before they knew what was going on and just as quickly as I had got to my feet and back into the fight I was through the lines and back into my spot on the line. Dani praising me and giving me a thumbs up for it made my heart swell!
--Brom nearly died. Again. He wasn't super close to rez... but my clock was ticking. Sadly, I had very little vision of what happened, only heard it. Near as I can tell Sir Egil, Sir Morningtide, and Dame Katherine fought HARD to reclaim Brom's body so that Sir Morningtide could get him back to life. It was TENSE! As I lay on my back staring up at the sky I could see the NPCs moving steadily past my body and pushing the PCs back. My gut sank with each step they took. I could here frantic damage calls and cries for help as the Knights three fought desperately. The whole fight was epic but Mike, Ray, and Trace burned this fight into memory easily with their actions. I know others were involved but sadly I know not who they are. Know that each person that helped is a personal hero of Brom's!

I think I shall end my wall of text there. Overall, a good event! Thank you to everyone who made it awesome. All I can hope for is that I am able to do my part to make the event great for you all in my own way!

There were a bunch of great moments this event for me/Lagarde. The ones I can think of offhand...

- The costuming, RP, and whatnot around the masquerade were amazing.
- OMG, the song was beautiful. Well done!
- Rifting to the plane of nightmares/chaos with no pants and having to haggle with the LARP equivelent of the devil. Again, with no pants. Dani, you are creepy as hell when you want to be. :)
- Little Bear being turned into a sex symbol for the town. Not sure how/when that happened, but it was pretty darn funny. Somehow not surprised, having known Sam this long.
- The delightful date between Baron Rivervale and Torin, which Lagarde laughed to no end about...until...
- Being cornered by Rivervale and forced to flirt and be flirted with against my will with the person Lagarde was failing to be subtle with, while Jay stood nearby as the sheriff glowering and shaking his head at me, and Baron Rivervale giving me a "your turn to be embarassed now!" look. Complete with Dame Katherine all but threatening Lagarde's safety if he doesn't follow courtly protocol in such matters.
- Trying to explain to Morningtide why I felt that security needed to remove or kill a person that had decided to dance with the person Lagarde "clearly wasn't" flirting with in terms that didn't implicate him as actually having an interest in the particular female. I'm still 99% sure Morningtide thinks Lagarde found a legitimate threat to security.
- The disease/plant mod. OMG awesome mod. Loved the physical aspects of this mod, crawling around under/over vines while Jesse followed us around yelling, "BZZZT! Tail again!" each time I touched a vine. Blue and Lagarde scooting through the maze of vines almost casually, while the rest of the party stood back and shook their heads.
- Watching all the craziness from the fear effects, while Lagarde critiqued everyone's fears. Was pretty sure Lagarde's fear wasn't going to get triggered all weekend.
- Trying to dance while wearing that insane bird mask...I'm glad I didn't stab anyone with the beak.
- The RP and combat all around the duchess rescue...and having Lagarde's fear triggered after he had berserked. That was awkward and I think a few NPCs were confused by the looks on their faces when I came rampaging out of the cabin. Was made better by Little Bear immediately jumping in with me, roaring too.
- Quinn's creepy ghost. *shiver*
- Defending Lagarde's "good" reputation against people like Deacon.
- Boobie cupcakes with Brom.
- “Lagarde, if you’d like to get rid of this [chaos] mark, I’d like to invite you attend the School of Chivalry discussions, and then I’ll teach you how I alphabetize my socks…” *eye twitch*

Me: "What's wrong, Little Bear?"
LB: "Nothing! I...there were bugs."
Me: "What kind of bugs?"
LB: "Go away, fox."
Me: "Flies?"
LB: "Go away."
Me: "Maggots?"
LB: "AAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHH!" *cowers*
Me: "Want to hear my recipe for fried maggots?"
LB: *hand on head, grinning* "You are an a**hole, Jim." ;-)

I also enjoyed talking to Brooke at the ball when she informed me I should really find myself a mate from Rivervale as it is a thing in Warchester. :)

Wow, I never thought of that. Hmmm... wheels... turning....

Trace

What? Squire Noah is interested in Lumi, you say? Well, we should do what we can to make sure these two crazy kids have some time to get to know each other.

P.S. Unrelated: Yay! I've now sufficiently run my mouth on these boards enough that I'm no longer a "Newbie" on the boards!

I had such a great time this weekend! I'm sure Ive forgotten more than I can remember but I'll try to put down everything I can.

First of all seeing people getting rifted into the nightmare realm and then having the same experience was a great way to set the pace for the weekend.

The ghost that lost her child mod was amazing I had such a great time with everyone on that mod. Creeping through the darkness expecting an attack the entire time. Nyx being so awesome for allowing the ghosts remains to travel with us in her cloak. Figuring out just exactly why Legarde put his hat up on the wall :p And having offered to find the solders wife earlier in the evening made it an incredibly emotional event for me. Many thanks to Brom and Deacon for keeping Abtus grounded and reminding me that even thought it was a sad thing to have to tell the solder about his wife he was getting closure. and having finally reunited the family together was so fulfilling just a fantastic job all around.

Many thanks to Peat for keeping the entire group of us that were feared Saturday afternoon calm on the side of thew tavern that was some amazingly fun roleplay and it was good to get to interact with others that also tired of running away.

Little-bears shout out during story time to bears putting fireflies in the sky. :D and coyote Puke!

Hearing Alis sing "I Dreamed a Dream"
after telling his story this just broke Abtus it was hauntingly beautiful and I couldn't stop crying amazingly well done!

The multiple times Abtus has offered to "join the club" to Squire Yarrow and Lagarde

Getting a portrait with Rath at the masquerade and the walk of the dead afterward. Abtus felt a need to stay around till the nobles had finished their discussion with the first king of acarthia it seemed respectful to do so.

Finding so many wonderful shield fighters to stab at monsters around you guys make Abtus's life so much easier. This was evidenced especially during the sat night rolling boogie fight form the tavern down to greenwood

The vine mod was amazing you guys did a great job of getting us into it I happily dropped to my belly and shimmied through the dirt on my now not so new leather armour and pouches. Feeling very lucky my polearm tip is metal and the phys rep heart was a great touch esp after hearing several "ewwws" when finding it.

Having my first full shift in the healers guild interrupted by a Resurrection. Point in fact every time I'm working in the healers guild It gets interrupted by a res. Last month was the Ogre while I was turning in my aspirant tasks. Beware all when Abtus is next in the healers guild.

Lunch and Broms cupcakes down at lucky circle. Big thanks to Tiatar for organizing this lunch and to Ri and Berial for the amazing lamb.

Im sure there is more events that I loved during the weekend but I can quite remember them now.

One last thing NPC's did a great job this weekend just like every event! And to Tavern staff the food was amazing and was really hearty and just what was needed for the weekend!

Ah yes, the smoldering 'kin club. :)

You guys are so sweet. Thank you for all the much-needed compliments, both in game and out. :) I can't tell you how much it means to me!!

I was thinking Monty :) He seemed so disappointed when I didn't accept his "proposal" at snacky time when he was last at gather.

Oh Monty, why didn't I think of him. They would be so cute together!

The both like hats, it would be Adorable!

Going to dd to my list a bit. :)
*I was handed a couple of longer roleplays this weekend that I really enjoyed! One was with Dia (Peat) and that was a lot of fun! Glad I could nail the back story as close as I did with having read it first ^_^
* I did enjoy being dance master for the masquerade. I am sorry that it was so confusing. With the between game practices I will get better at taching and calling the moves.
There were more things that happened but I will keep those under my hat for now ;-)

Jose, who sometimes masquerades as Monty of Rivervale, is happily married and chooses to direct his IC affections exclusively toward his OOC wife -- who plays Anders' sister, Anne Fairfax. :)

A little late though it may be...

The tardiness of my arrival, alas, somewhat lessens how much I have to say here, but I do have a few standout things in mind.

* How fast the strawberry punch went. Ye gods! Next time, I'll bring enough to triple that recipe.
* All of the very lovely costumes a the ball. Jim, I had no idea who you were until I saw the portrait-booth pictures. Cassie (sp) looked radiant in her dress. Dia was (is anyone surprised?) gorgeous. And Leora looked fabulously like Frozen. (To name just a few). So many beautiful looks on so many people. Well done, guys.
* Speaking of masquerade things - I am not inclined toward dancing in a formal sense (one of the reasons I've been pushing the 'let's learn to dance!' thing on the FB group), which is why I had a moment of awkward fumbling when a completely masked gentleman walked up to me as Tinder, held out his hand, and conveyed all of the coyness of, "Will you dance with me?" completely through his posture. Tinder's complete abandon broke through, though, and that one round of hilarity in whoopses was fantastically fun.
* Drunken Duer Osborne. It freaks Tinder out. Just a little.
* Being quietly stuck in Salvia's ward while she performed a resurrection; the Baroness and Tinder had an interesting conversation.
* Also, I reaffirmed that dresses and I do not get along - I tore up the tulle beneath my skirt.
* The late night raiding on Greenwood. Specifically, the moments wherein we tried to get all three members of Rivervale into our still functional ward without letting in any nightmare booglings. I have, in retrospect to that series of events, a small handful of thoughts: thank gods that B/Vira decided some of the pumpkins needed to be hung high, I've never been so grateful to have plot nab the shortest members of my team (anyone taller, and Tiatar would have been down, too), bloody hells it was cold(!), and good job on Jenny's part (doesn't matter if one has been enslaved or not, having to step into the villain role with your PC against the people you call friend in game isn't always fun and/or easy).
* The last fight - so much of the details in that last fight were so very fun - Wolsey and Ri twitching in the Duchess' quarters, being paired up with Panax (and subsequently having to chase him later - I was absolutely certain that boogling was going to see us isolated off by ourselves with Panax's head buried in the juniper), watching the lines struggle between pursuing booglings vs. holding a defensible line, falling on my a** three times (the last time, I got pulled back behind lines by Little Bear, and in the process dragged a lot of tree detritus into my hair - I was pulling it out on Monday), and that harried effort to leave. It felt pitched, and was a lot of fun.

Lastly...

Sunday morning, I ended up in the mage guild catching up on Things That Had Happened (tm) from the mage perspective. It was an interesting conversation on many levels. Of course, it wrapped itself up with a call for us to join everyone else who was venturing out into the dream realm - as it was explained to Tinder, the mages are 'the boom squad.' That is going to stick in my head any time I go someplace with Anders and Aneira forever more.

As always, there are things I am not going to mention here, namely because I think that great roleplay is made of knowing when to keep a secret and when to share. For those of you involved in the many wonderful roleplay moments I had, thank you! My game is made by the people I play with, from the NPC staff to the other players.

So exhausting. So much fun. I think I'm finally caught up on sleep. My list is short because a lot of stuff I can't talk about for Reasons but I loved it all.
  • Seeing everyone's formal wear and masks at the masquerade! And as always, the masquerade games and competitions were hilarious fun.
  • Talking to squires as Dame Kettredge. Looking forward to doing more of that!
  • Mages Guild! Circle day party! Dwarf in the mirror! Ciphers! Stealing a Light from Kendrick! Intoxicant milkshakes! Mages Guild is best guild.
  • Nightmare realm fun as an elemental with Lagarde in a dark room on Saturday night. Bwahahah. Also the reactions of his cabinmates upon his return.
  • Walking out of the Nature Trail as a death elemental, accompanied by another death elemental, and then hearing the waves of Foundation elementals pouring out of the portal... so instead of approaching, we stood past the Merchant's Guild in view of the tavern. Veils fluttering in the breeze, feeling ominous and theatrical, waiting. Then, just as the waves of Foundation elementals ended and I thought I could approach the tavern to hook the mod, hearing Alis call an honor duel. Sighing and waiting some more so as not to interrupt dramatic moments.
And then Faren looks over after talking to a fishbowl NPC, and says "I assume I don't see you?" and we say "Oh no, you see us." "What do I see?" "Black crackling forms." Watching Faren's eyes widen, watching him take two steps backwards, and then bolt for the town. Ehehehe.
  • The whole death elemental/Grove of Life mod and the aftermath. Delicious, delicious roleplay.
  • That entire final battle on Sunday. Even without ever seeing what was going on indoors. That combat was overall just intense and amazing.
  • Fire elementals. And the complicating factor of Baron Darius being afraid of fire elementals. Whoops.

Roleplaying fear and paranoia is not easy. I saw several very good examples of it this weekend - Brook Blaine fleeing Little Bear's story at the mention of spiders, Darius running away from Banks, and Panax (again) hiding in the junipers. I think the best was Anders following the appearance of undead Banks. Though I don't really want to dissect the little bit I got to see, the portrayal there was more disturbing than most of the running and screaming.

@Raen : It was great wandering around having people leaning back and forth, staring at my fox mask ears trying to be sure who they were seeing. Most were clueless until they stared at my butt/tail for a while. It was pretty entertaining. :)
