Anyone Need Some Good Boots?

New LARP season is coming up - anyone in need of some good boots? I'm giving players first dibs before I list them on eBay. Both pair of boots are real leather, and are waterproof. I only wore them for about a year each, exclusively at events. They can really take a beating, and the waterproofing has not worn out. (I can not stress enough the value of waterproof boots, both at the swampy site year-round and in general for Minnesota winters!)

First up: Teva "De La Vina"
Size: 8/8.5
Height: between knee height and mid-calf
Material: genuine leather

Marketed as winter boots. Insulation is thin, not bulky, but warm. Waterproof/snow-proof. Rubber soles with good traction. Inside zipper. Straps are adjustable, but are mostly there for decoration.

If you have giant calves, these are the boots for you! I have skinny calves, and they felt a bit floppy to me.

List price: $180
My price: $90 (50% off list)

Up Next: Timberland Hiking Boots
Size: 8.5
Height: 14" (knee-high)
Material: genuine leather

Real leather hiking boots. Waterproof! Thick rubber soles with good traction. Lace-up front only, no zippers.

The soles are HEAVY. Perfect for hiking, standing your ground, and getting roughed up, but as a rogue, the extra weight of the soles was not ideal for constantly running around.

If you have 12" calves, like me, you will have to cinch these up all the way, and will still get a little crumpling at the ankles. If you have normal-size or large calves, good news! The laces make them adjustable.

List price: $220
My price: $110 (50% off list)
