Preserve Duration and Item Recall

I enchanted an item with a few rituals, one of which was an item recall. I was told that I needed a separate preserve ritual cast on the item recall because the recall was targeting both my character's spirit and the item while the other rituals that were cast were only targeting the item. There was some second guessing on this, so I thought I would ask here for clarification. Thank you!

Edit: all rituals were earth aspect rituals

No. You only need one. The IR is one ritual, so it only needs one preserve.

Elaborated answer:

John gets a sword enchanted with Item Recall, Damage Aura, and Preserve Duration. The Preserve carries over to the Item Recall on the Spirit.

John gets an Arcane Armor on his Spirit, and then Spirit Locks his wand to him. He casts preserve on his Spirit, which carries over to the Spirit Lock on the wand.

I am wondering if he was told that because he had all Celestial aspect rituals cast on his item but then the item recall, being Earth Aspect, would require another Preserve? That's the only reason I can think of for being told to bring two Preserves to a ritual casting for a single item.

In the situation you describe, though, you only need one.
