That hit me too, about five minutes in. But I figure if you can deal with waking up every day and being a silly, upright walking, naked, clawless, almost toothless ape, you can handle pretty much any amount of ridiculousness you care to. Seriously, though, that boulder. The power! The majesty...

I wholeheartedly endorse arming the badguys with boulders, hand held trebuchets, and anything else that calls thirty massive.

http://larpsupply.com/_wsn/page6.html Can we please make those crossbows legal? I swear I won't complain if a liche pistol whips me!

    Thin Weapon Construction

In Minneapolis I can pick up 1/2 in and 3/4in ID 5/8in wall pipe insulation from Menard's. It's reasonably durable stuff. I've been messing around with mass weapon heads out of open cell foam. I've noticed that cutting it in flat angles with knives and scissors doesn't work terribly well. I'm...

    The twenty dollar A-frame tent

12x9' Canvas dropcloth/tarp - 15$ 1"x10' PVC pipe - 3 $ String, tent pegs, whatever - ? End result? Maybe a cheap, easy tent to spruce up monster camp. Has anyone tried this before?

    Bow question.....

So, I made up some bow cores tonight. 1. Take your 5ish foot length of PVC, cut a notch in each end. Loop string around each notch in such a way that the core is taught and flexed, almost like a real bow. 2. Tape off one end. use a lot of tape and secure it as well as you can, you're trying to...

    Pole weapon construction?

I didn't realize how short 72" really is. I'm 76", for reference sake. I feel a little silly with a pole weapon that's shorter than I am. : ( Oh joy. And my weapon head is sixty cubic inches oversize. : ( Y'all really don't like polearms, eh?

    Pole weapon construction?

To be honest I didn't even know Nylon came in poles, but apparently it does. Axman is full of stuff like that. It's a sort of general purpose surplus store, anything that anyone else didn't want or couldn't sell ends up there. A lot of motors, electrical bits, pieces from old board games...

Stuff you want, but can't find

Any special kind? One strap, two straps? A historical soldiers haversack? A modern daypack? I could start working on a design, see if it's feasible to make a good, durable pack at a reasonable price.

    Pole weapon construction?

Hey folks. I'm interested in putting together a pole arm, probably just a spear or a glaive or something. Any advice on core materials, specifically how to jimmy them together so you get something that has a decent length without being too whippy? Actually, on that topic there are some honkin...

    Elves

You know, I could probably make a naginata that would blur the line between a sword with a long handle and a pole with a short handle. Actually, it would pretty much just be that weird pole-sword from the LOTR movies... Dooby dooby doo. *heads off to the hardware store* Hey, could I use a...

Stuff you want, but can't find

What is that one piece of gear you've always wanted, but can't find or afford? I've just started making leather goods to sell, and I'm wondering what people really want.

Yeah, what's with the twohanded swords? It's not like they're any harder to use than a longsword. Maybe they just decided not too. Two handers aren't good for much excepting taking horses off at the knees.

    Bow question.....

Hrm. You could put a small fire-cracker in it as the initial burst charge to disperse the aerosol, then use a secondary incendiary charge to ignite it. Dooby dooby doo. When they say 'Ribbon' for arrow packets, does that literally mean a piece of ribbon? Could I use braided yarn, or a strip...
