2018 Denver Rules for Jack-o-Lanterns Guarding Your Dwelling

Traceroo

Rogue
In Denver's game world, Ward and Wizard Lock spells are not effective barriers against undead during the Halloween event. Undead can walk right through your Ward.

It it widespread knowledge within the game world that posting a carved, lighted jack-o-lantern outside your dwelling will keep away undead during the Halloween season, however. You will see these throughout the land of the game world.

Jack-o-lanterns must be carved, and lighted from within in order to keep undead away. Painting a decorative pumpkin but not lighting it, like on the cover of a Pottery Barn catalog, will not keep the undead away.

In past years of the game, there were varying rules about whether or not you needed a tag for your pumpkin.

OFFICIAL: In 2018, no tags for pumpkins are needed!

If you bring a cool jack-o-lantern to site, and schlep it up to your cabin, that is good enough!

Several PCs are already at work with BGAs and letters to farmers and farm sources, working on the roleplay of bringing enough pumpkins into New Acarthia to make sure that everybody is covered. Team Daedalus encourages you to continue this roleplay for funsies and continuity -- it's fun to be the hero of the night because you have a cool farm contact that grows pumpkins! But don't sweat tags and details. We have suspended the Pumpkin Police and assigned them to vital duties elsewhere.

By the way, at the October event, one may typically expect cabin raids during the night, or at least attempted cabin raids. Please prepare accordingly.

Happy Halloween, everybody!
