A New Home

The first day in his new house, Dyne spent rearranging his provided furniture to make it more like 'home'. He had his kitchen set up the way he liked it, his bed placed under the window just like Fi enjoyed, and setting up a space where she would normally have her little garden. The derelict district certainly fit the name, but it was honestly better than almost everything found beyond Haven's walls. Not quite home, but it would do for now... and it would be one he needed to protect in the coming months.

While preparing dinner for himself, thoughts of Azel, his brother, his daughter, and the rest of the Merrah and what they did to the Vauxway ran through his mind. The taunts in his dreams, the Whispering Winds, the stolen Life Braids... it was all starting to get to him. But he had to soldier on. If he faltered now, it would be bad for morale for those from his caravan that considered him a 'leader.' The next step would be a conversation with the Sentinals and what they knew about this 'device' that Azel and family were after. Perhaps they could set up a trap? As Dyne sat down to eat the meal he made, he realized that had absentmindedly made two plates just like he used to. Waves of memories came back to him and his wife to be, Fiora Silverleaf. She was a soldier and hunter for the Vauxway, (which was something special as Dryads traditionally filled other roles in the Vaux) while he mostly stayed in the village as a healer and tending to their home. It was a simple life, but it was something he appreciated after his chaotic younger years he spent with the Sect in Calandonia. Looking down at the food, he let out a heavy sigh and pushed his plate away, losing his appetite.

One of his 'fans' had mentioned a tavern that was quite nice, maybe a dinner of rum would be more appealing, and perhaps he would come across someone to distract him from his own thoughts.
