It is worth looking into the "monstrous plants" that Ascendant Iron Beard mentioned.

Sarah Sliversong reports (as always seems to be the case) that the magics in this area seem to be more unstable than usual. There is almost always a cause for these types of instability.

I'm sure we have unfinished business from last year, but I can't seem to remember an of it. It's been a long winter to be sure.
