CMA Change Log

Alkalin3

Knight
I was much better about this before the rush to finish for 2.0. I'd like to get better about it.

I'll use this thread to post updates as they happen, as well as answer questions about said updates.

I deployed c572612ec98b6e34b3ad935fe75bd8efa898ae8b which includes some character card punch up work by @Ken, and some typos to skills, some minor tweaks to account merging.

The online character card now shows XP Rate and Max Armor.
Screen Shot 2019-07-24 at 6.21.19 AM.png

The XP rate is based on your next blanket, and could change depending on how close you are to the next level.
Max Armor is based on your class's starting armor and the ranks of wear extra armor you have purchased.

I had just finished an excel doc with auto calculation of the xp blanket event. Good exercise but totally happy to see it in the CMA :D

Love the changes. Any chance we can get a way to filter events we see in the list, so we can customize it to chapters relevant to us?

00aa929ea3881ffcc21ea7fa503108f741eaa5a9 is deploying.
If you use the New Character (Quick) link. You'll no longer be prompted to select a character's race. Instead you'll do this on a character screen.
Additionally, the same thing is true of logistics creates your character for you.
These characters are capable of receiving blankets but, you cannot purchase any skills until a race is selected.

Minor usability update. Spell pyramids will now appear in the Obtainable/Purchased skill lists as though they were skills, primarily to help new players find them. These entries will be marked the same way as other skills when you qualify to buy more spells. Additionally, when you qualify for a new level of spells, the individual spell skill will appear in the Obtainable list. The slot counts still appear in the same location as before if you have purchased any.

01a779c389d59856066e9c42154d8c3fbb5d4950 is deploying.

It includes a minor update to the preregistration flow. A few people were getting confused about the npc question. This has better text.

Please remove the XP rate or make it optional. It causes excessive hydration levels around my eyesockets; this error has a greater occurrence as play continues.

(I kid, I kid)

@Ken deployed d789ee7b0322b15aa052d9cb080f559cae79083c
Your home page Goblin Stamp list will now link to the chapter.

I deployed 82e4680a172e702b238c1d4a199b25fba17e718c like a week ago.
The bad links in potion making table are fixed.
Skills with specific skill prerequisites, such as healing arts now display this on their skill page.

No code deploy this time but, thanks to a bit of help from @Auric. I got db.alliancelarp.com and freeplay-db.alliancelarp.com to work as the actual host name for the CMA.

If you're looking to access the systems you can do so from both of those names. Additionally emails will come from the alliancelarp.com domain name. Which should give us a bit more reliability for emails.

I'll look at adding a page on the website with links to the CMA and Freeplay so they're easier to find.

5487c45633948291ecef600cf469127eef7f81ed was deployed yesterday. (None of it was me)

Complex character creation had a minor bug fix.
The chapter management buttons got a face lift.
Viewing Total Preregistrations paginations controls were placed a bit better.

2a8eb1a823f0a8075e7fe3c5bf2c83c8be175b94 was deployed yesterday

Minor
Added credit type to the event page. So chapters can get an idea of what event purchases are actually coming from their gs pools, and what's come from the national pool.

Patch
We removed the coffeescript compiler (it wasn't really being used anyways).

d7076d8abf4b806e8d4705254646d2aba8553b44 was deployed

New Feature
Chapters can manage their own access, instead of needing to email me when someone joins or leaves staff.

Bug
Calculating character body was off by 10 xp. For some reason over a year a go, I changed it from the correct formula to one that was off, likely when we were building the system someone convince me it was off. I don't recall.
This resulted in players have a slightly larger number of body then they should. (2 if you're a fighter, in the right range).
Given that folks may have built or made xp spend choices around the idea of using mettle, at a certain point, this isn't great.
If you've been affected in a meaningful way, like you just bought mettle and you now can't use it. Shoot me a message and we'll find a way to make it right for you.

Shawna deployed 4c0acacd35faf9496c9ddcb4f5c6133a3353a860 last night.

It includes more pages for folks who haven't logged in, or don't have a login.
You can now view chapter and event information (all be it with out the personal details or ability to prereg).

46b4cf06894fab4d91f2ada211fab31e089d8a26 was deployed about an hour ago.

It includes friendlier mobile views for chapters when viewing preregistration.
It fixed a bug introduced in 4c0acacd35faf9496c9ddcb4f5c6133a3353a860
It also readded chapter's description field to the chapter view, which as erroneously removed sometime ago.

I deployed f19c6932e58d3a26173bc6061fb9206cd76305d1 this morning.

This includes the new preregistration flow.
  • "Preregistration" will explain a lot more about what it expects.
  • As part of this you can include magic items, which then logistics can auto mark off after the event.
  • You can come back to it, so if you don't have a memorization list setup, you can build one and add it.
  • You can edit it, including switching characters.
  • Chapters can prompt you for custom questions. Such as cabin details, goblin point spending, production, etc.
3 Chapters have events taking preregistration right now. Chicago, South Michigan, and Calgary. I've edited both Calgary's and Chicago's to be correctish but, they'll probably need a bit of time to update it (or maybe they won't for these events). South Michigan's is functional now.

If you've preregistered for an event, you probably don't need to go back and edit your preregistration but, you certainly could. Your old notes are still safe.

You'll all get a chance to explore the flow soon. But here's some screenshots of what your final reg will look like.

Here's an expert from the battleboard.

This update also includes some text updates by Shawna for editing events.

I deployed 42aefcba399a4c293b47bfcc7645c3b3c541f90c

This allows logistics to retire characters and have the xp and deaths automatically applied to a new character.
Ken had some updates to some of the text to skills, and the prereg flow to make things a bit more clear and better formatted. (those actually made it out 2 or 3 days ago)
