Common Knowledge for Players

Some common knowledge:
The Silvervale outpost is on the edge of the great Elarian Forest in the foothills below the chasm. An easily overlooked town of Alendil (Elves), Cetra (Humans), and a handful of other races. Silvervale outpost is a sanctuary for those fleeing lands where they cannot practice magic. Here all can practice magic freely without fear of prosecution.
The Blight has returned. We fear our world will succumb to darkness if we don’t get help soon. People are dying needlessly. Alendil scholars are working hard to ascertain why. However, there never seems to be enough people or resources. Archaeological digs have been helping but have proven dangerous. Hopefully the Call wasn’t in vain, we need help.
Crops are failing and disease is affecting all plant life. Pests have increased exponentially, all manner of creepy crawlies flourish. Swarms of insects have become troublesome. The disease affecting the land is odd and cyclic. It has come before and is here again. Its origins are unknown. Some plants are just failing but some seem injured. Between the insects and crop failures the animal population has been hit hard. Horses, ox, and other beasts of burden are rare. Kin (Wylderkin) are helping as heavy labor and migrant workers. They are doing their best to help for a price, of course. Traveling as the land is ready to be seeded then harvested. Many races have stepped up to help protect caravans and shipments of food and supplies, as life depends on trade right now. The Dragonfly Guild has been working overtime to train new adventurers and fighters to help.
Silvervale is starting to rebuild. The Brothers Ear have worked to help their Meadery gain new life. Originally, the Alendil Council helped settle this outpost due to its location, it was once a hub of commerce and activity. With help from the Alendil Council hopefully it will be so again. The Council have been sending supplies to Silverdale to help us through this cycle of the Blight. In return, we have been trying to help with their endeavors.
