The Alliance LARP calendar was filled to the brim at the beginning of the year. We had a full slate of events across all of our chapters, and even a National Event that was to take place during the summer. The arrival of Covid-19 has disrupted both the world and our calendar. The vast majority of those events have since been canceled or postponed until safer times are upon us.
The National Organization strongly believes that chapters should follow the guidelines set forth by both local municipalities and the CDC/PHA (where appropriate) when they choose to run events. This includes the possibility of canceling those events if the prevailing conditions call for it.
We do not, however, have the authority to force an individual chapter to cancel an event (or hold one for that matter). The contracts our owners sign, and the bylaws we all adhere to limit our power in that regard. We strongly encourage all of our players to avoid attending any event where they do not feel safe.
We can all be heroes again when this is over.
