Earthquakes rock northern royal fiefs! Flooding rages on the Corsith River! Aspen Woods burns! Phoenix hit by eldritch shockwave.

It was a quiet night in August, on Saturday the 17th, when it hit. The earth shook and a great storm suddenly gathered on the northern border of the royal fiefs. Little did anyone know, this was only thebeginning.
The Aspen Woods began to be consumed by unquenchable wildfires. Within hours enormous plumes of smoke and ash choked the skies above Phoenix. In the Kingdom, strangely colorful, yet caustic pools of scalding water gathered in great rents in the earth in the northern fiefs.
Reports of strange and dangerous monsters are filtering down into the kingdom from all three
areas. The creatures attacked refugees as they fled the destruction in their homelands.
“A great hole opened in the ground and swallowed Red Maple Hamlet just as we reached Howard’s Knoll,” said Zane Farnsworth, a blacksmith from Forest Watch.
“I tried to go back to get my grandmother’s silver, given to her by King Thanos Moorefield, but the entire hamlet was just… gone,” Sandra Anshil wept.
Scouts who went into Forest Watch days after the event said that the ground bound wildlife of the area was all but extinct having attempted to cross scalding streams to get away from noxious vapor clouds. New yellow, white and red upright coned rock formations were found to be the source of the boiling water.
“Small aftershocks were causing unsteady footing even as we looked for survivors,” reported Chris Rainsford, who was part of a team sent in to assess the situation in the northern fiefs. “We lost Gerald when a hole suddenly opened up under him and dropped him into a narrow hole that seemed to have no bottom.”
Members of several scouting teams agreed the areas they explored smelled like rotten eggs.
Reports from the Aspen Woods were nearly impossible to obtain. A small team of elves was escorted to His Majesty Moorefield two weeks after the event. Though the meeting was private, rumors have prevailed that many villages in the trees were lost to the wild fires.
One of the stranger occurrences from the event was the shock wave that radiated with it. While no physical harm occurred from it, those sensitive to eldritch magic were impacted. People who were trading with biata in Tasis said they saw a simultaneous look of horrific pain cross the faces of nearby biata. Some biata screamed in agony, others passed out.
To make matters worse, a strong southerly wind has blown the ash plume from the northern fiefs and the wood smoke from the Aspen Woods over Phoenix where reports from Tasis say the dark clouds have blotted out daylight. No news has come from within Phoenix since the event.
Eastward of the northern fiefs, the Corsith River began to overflow, flooding estates along it's banks, and damaging riverside structures as far south as Bayside, where the rising floodwaters swept away a portion of the old pier, destroying at least two taverns, various warehouses, and a house of ill repute.
Larger, more fortified structures, such as Port Bayenna and Port Reliance were able to weather the worst of flooding, with only minor damage to some port structures.
Most of the damage remains further to the north. His Majesty, Andrew Moorefield has deployed the 3rd and 5th battalions of the Royal Army to assist in rescue and cleanup efforts.
