February Event Highlights!

Newbie
No one has done it yet, so I will :)

My many event highlights included:
-Having Flynn and Luke come at the right time to help us with the Hark trap, otherwise it would have been one upside down Gypsie and two Dryads who have nothing sharp. Thanks again!
-Working to close one of the portals and fighting the very funny Cymric Chaos elemental and giving him quite a tongue lashing, even if we couldn't defeat him.
-Coming back into town and being told by several people that Yelena wants to speak with me.
-Gypsy dinner party!
-The cow mod, where the lowbies got the cow into the end zone with no casualties :)
-Asking James what his intentions towards my sister were.

It was a fantastic time!

Lots of things for me, some of which I can't mention, but here goes:

--Seeing how the PC's reacted to various bits throughout the weekend, especially the Messengers.
--Everyone was very patient (thanks PC's!)
--Getting to visit with the PC's as Gyr was nice, even if I felt it was a bit rushed.
--The great interactions between some of the town folk and the PC's was great -- hearing about the Mustache vs Hair duel was awesome.
--Finally getting to see/interact with the High Orcs and High Ogres -- you guys are a ton of fun!
--Breakfast
--Hearing how much people hate Tiberius...

There's tons more, but my brain is still fried!

Oh... this was a wonderful event, and I am in SO MUCH PAIN, but it is so worth it.

--- Between lair cards and mods... I went on ten, yes, TEN different adventures.
--- Taking us lowbies out to deal with things and then DEALING with them while not having to run back to the highbies.
--- Forming tight bonds with the new PCs in battle and portal hunting.
--- Going out alone after Alcandar said not to, finding a trap lair, fuming on the way back about him possibly being shown right.... and it was just a deer.
--- Taking Polare out on Sunday to deal with a couple of spies, because Maxvell thinks he's unscrupulous enough to look the other way should Maxvell just beat the tar out of High Ogre haters.

  • A battle on several fronts, even if we did mostly lose. I'm thinking we would've done better just considering the vegetables a lost cause from the beginning.
  • The hit on Virid, and the RP it generated
  • Winning at Kiah, if only for a day...
  • The slightly too familiar touch of a certain local transgender alchemist
  • M. Whipplemeyer's ad

*Ian berating the Harkonian ritualist by calling him a failure who will screw up the ritual because he can't do anything right...and then Adam's dice making it so.

*Polare and Alavatar talking about it later, saying how they put 7 prisons into the Harkonian as he phased in. Someone nearby was like "What, only 7?" And they responded with "Well, then we paused for a breath."

*Brian(Ashok) talking about it OOG later, and his moment of panic: "Oh ****! What calls 'No Effect' to Prisons?! Oh... Dead bodies."

*The Tainted Rune Cow that was brought in by M early Saturday. Words fail to do this bit justice. The NPC running the cow looked entirely mentally checked out, and I really think he was channeling "This is the most boring NPC role I've ever been given" into "I'm a cow, whaddaya want from me?" and OMG did it work, complete with the most flat, Daria-esque "moo" at completely sporadic intervals... Perfect. I managed not to break character at the time, but I'm still chuckling over it.

*All the new faces! It was so much fun to interact with all the new blood, I hope all of you come back, and bring your friends!

*Teasing Tony Mungo in his various NPC roles, about this gypsy named Reganzi,(his PC) who is such a great guy, we wish he was here so you could meet him...

ARG!

You guys are makin' me cry!

-Playing a 10/2 crunchy skeleton and walking head first into waves of packets.
-Playing a 10/2 crunchy skeleton and killing Meko. 12-to-1 are not good odds.
-The honor duel between Max and myself which I barely, barely won. Good fighting, Max. :D
-Cymryc's RP as the choas elemental was hilarious. It was very hard to keep a straight face during that battle.
-The RP around my dice set was great; I'm very glad that I brought those with me. I will be bringing them in the future as well.

Not yet! *Hugs* Evan

Meko ressurected because you were not there to life her! :D

I already yelled at her for that. :-(

Going to be interesting when I get my hands on a Harky necromancer. Raccoon vengeance is an ugly thing to see. :disgust:

So much fun, here's what pops to mind:
-Rezzing Prashka and then getting Ashok drunk.
-Seeing Meeko get caught among the undead & commanding them to kill her. It was right out of a zombie movie, screams and all.
-Hanging with the Gypsies
-Ashok got a bit out of control this event, just pulling me along for the ride. It was fantastic. Go go emotional Stone Elves.
-Going into all of the minds. All of them.
-Dressing down Orcs for not following orders
-Having so much RP to do that I didn't swing my sword until the Saturday night lowbie mod. I don't want to do it every game, but it was a lot of fun for this game.

Ashok was particularly draining for me this event, something about Stone Elf and strong emotions not fitting together neatly. But I had such a blast with all my interactions, and even after game off, I still have 2-3 conversations that need to happen in downtime. It was just fantastic all around, PC, NPC, & plot. Looking forward to the next event.

Now back to planning the Seattle event...

  • The Ritual Casting
    • Hark casting a Spirit Walk and everyone freaking out, but Polare and I nonchalantly kept casting a couple more rituals
    • Pausing for a moment to see where the Hark was Spirit Walking, then sending a barrage of Prisons at him as he appeared in our circle only to call "no effect" and falling over dead
    • After checking that the Hark was dead, once again nonchalantly casting a few more rituals while the Hark continued it's death count
  • I admit, it was a bit of an ego boost constantly hearing Alcandar bragging about having "the most powerful Celestial casters he knows" in his cabin so he felt sorry for anything attacking in the middle of the night ;)
  • Adventuring with Polare and Kragnar. It felt good to actually "adventure" again and not have to worry about politics! It truly was a vacation for Alavatar. :)
  • Alavatar meeting with seldom seen old friends (Alcandar and Roan mainly) and making new friends (Virid, Varick, Ian, Dunya, Kragnar, Ni'abi, Ashok, and more)
  • The Saturday night conversations with Alcandar, Roan, Hugh, Ni'Abi (I think), Ashok, and a few others I can't remember off the top of my head. Finding out when various characters planned to have kids was an interesting RP session. :)
  • The extremely heart-wrenching RP conversation with Roan and Bowie on Saturday night. I won't be forgetting that any time soon. Great RP, Dexter!
  • Getting friendly with the gypsies is always fun and entertaining. :D
  • The long RP conversation with Barb/Prashka on the way home was great as well. It certainly helped keep us awake!

Hmmm so many good times! Let me see if I can nail down a few in no particular order!

Firstly being a freeking Gypsy that's always one of my favorite things!

Being handed the letter from Tiberius and feeling the Gypsy wraith coming on. Wanting to curse those suckers with every bit of Gypsy magic I could muster!

Sitting down with the messengers then having Ashok go into their minds for me before I was satisfied enough to let them go! Oh but were not through yet with the Messengers! *Evil grin* Just imagine if I was playing a mean Gypsy!

The Gypsy feast even if I was sorta sick for it I still enjoyed it! Especially telling my Joke twice then making Alavatar the butt of it later without him having any idea what we were talking about! :D Sorry Seth! (And by the way that's a trucker joke)

Seeing quite possibly the coolest death of any character I have ever seen when I was across the field and heard Meeko screaming and saw a hoard of undead literally swarm over her! Seriously if your going to go out that was a badass way to go! Watching that I knew there was nothing I could do to help her so I turned back to what I was doing at the time. Way to go NPC's! Sorry Meeko. :(

Getting to Earth storm the **** out of two waves of undead though I wish I had, had another storm to throw at them!

Being involved in the conversations with M and M then later having everyone pressing me about what was being done with the captured Hark's and being unable to answer because it was a Top secret conversation! Seriously guys do you not understand TOP SECRET!

Seeing Fliora come out of the woods and wonder if I was going to have to confine her or have the crew take her out only to have her say "We should talk now." Well that was easy'er than I thought it was going to be!

Having Fliora then tell me that a turncoat Bullkin was on his way to town at that very moment wanting my protection and wondering how the hell I was going to keep the town from ganking the **** out of him only to have him bring us a cow! What a peace offering!

The Messengers attacking M and M and wondering whether I should demand their capture for violating the orders of Lord Gyr as retribution for the Gypsy's they may or may not have killed.

Playing with all of you wonderful people again it's been to long!

Thanks again to plot and NPC's I had a blast!

Don't worry I'll point you in the right direction!

Good time great RP. Didn't really adventure much but still had a kick *** night fight.

I had some particular in-depth and touching RP with Bowie, Roan, & Grura. Really boosted my event.

I particularly enjoyed the unmark ritual. Way to go on trying to kill me via invisible tentacles Adam!

Getting to hate the always out of my reach Tiberius and the moral conflict between fighting a monster with a monster.

Coucilcandar was a busy boy. So many things, so many questions.

Being the guy tasked to split the night fight and lead the charge.

I had a really fabulous time RPing with everyone, especially all the people that I don't always get to talk to very much- mainly looking at Bowie, Meeko, Hugh, and Alavatar here.

-It was great to have some time to talk to Lord Gyr while not involved in a "super serious discussion" that was great!
-fairly consistently second guessing myself.. darn it.. stop it me. I was right.
-Night fight was pretty scary, wasn't looking good there for us for a bit. Neat to rely on different characters than usual in that situation.
-Endless politics.. endless.. kept me super busy! I didn't really even eat... and I so wanted to eat those deviled eggs.. yum
-a conversation about the consequences of necro that did not go the way the person talking to me thought it would. Oh, man. Laughing on the inside.
-Rob being so very, very smarmy
-Messengers. Oh the Messengers. So many issues.

Oh so many things! It was a wonderful event, and I had a fantastic time roleplaying with all of you ^.^ I got to explore a lot more emotions this event that Amory wasn't really ready to face, but it's really helped to give her some drive and direction.

Best moments for me:

*Amory's patience and idealism getting worn down first by the Messenger's attack on the Bull Kin, then by the Counsel's (apparent) reaction.

*Repeatedly asking the Gypsies for relationship advice, and getting some of the best/worst advice in return. >.< Amory is not a swift learner.

*After the cow retrieval mod, hearing about Ian and Cael mistaking a Harkonian for the cow. "What kind of cow throws Deaths?!?"

*And getting to be a part of the mobbing skeletons. That was so much fun !^.^ Lesson learned: Do NOT ignore the irritations. In large quantities they will wreak your day.

Can't wait for the next event! See y'all in April!

-Trap mod with raccoons. Luke's yells of "I believe in you" from outside. Grabbing a trapped bear, knowing it was trapped. Meeko's paranoia.
-A new player stumbling across M in the woods and narrowly avoiding unpleasant consequences.
-Traps.
-Watching Alcandar attempt to begin resurrections.
-Gypsies showing up escort M into town.
-Monster Camp with couches.
-Watching players run a minotaur across the field.
-"Willow, we need to talk about your home's design."

I grabbed her by the armor, too, thinking she was the cow. She threw a Death at Yon (Yan?) and I thought, "wait, what?" and then he threw some spell back and the "cow" said, "Bane!" That's when I, uh, went to find a different cow. A less deadly cow. :funny:

Lets see here. I love being the tavern keep. Give me a lot of RP and a chance to talk to character my other character normally would not. Favorite moments?

Top moment has to have been having my intentions asked for wanting to eat dinner with a lovely Dryad.

Other moments

Having a good reason to leave the tavern and choosing to go fight something.

Double hooking and getting to fight Hugh one on one.

All the great RP with everyone.

Cant wait for the next event.

A brief OOG discussion while waiting for a mod led to this gem: "Virid has a large price on his head, so don't let him go anywhere alone." "What you're saying is, stay far away from that guy, because he's a death trap."
