Gavaria New Campaign Setting Information

Kitaruen

Knight
We are happy to announce our 2022 Plot Team! Rob D. is our new Head of Plot and will work with Ryan B, Julia S, Tabby S, Emma A, and Sid P as his team.

After reviewing player feedback from the last few seasons, we’re proud to announce a shift away from Prademar to an all-new setting starting in May. We will hold two more weekend events fully in Prademar and follow up with a transitional event during our May 27th three-day weekend, taking us to our new and exciting lands.

We recognize many Alliance Chicago players may have storylines in Prademar that have not been fully told. The Plot Team will work with all players to help finish these stories and wrap-up loose ends in Prademar.

Please complete the below survey where you’ll have the opportunity to express ideas for the new setting, concerns about the transition, and add any transition plot-requests. You will also have opportunities for one-on-one meetings to discuss any of your feedback in further detail with a Plot Member and a Customer Service Representative. We will strive to do our best to fill with all requests.

FAQ

Local Chapter Only Crafting:

Chicago Local Chapter Only (LCO) crafting ingredients and LCO crafting recipes are being phased out as we start the new campaign and look towards Alliance 2.1.

We encourage players to use and take advantage of those LCO materials and recipes during the transition events (April 1st, April 29th, and May 27th), however they will no longer be valid for crafting after the May 27th three day event. Additionally, the Plot Team will provide an in-game method to exchange LCO materials for cool rewards until May 30th. Players must bring tags for exchange during the transition period.

All completed LCO production items will still be usable in the new campaign until their duration/use is completed.

What happens to Prademar?:

The Plot Team plans to leave Prademar behind and intact, however the new in-game location will be the primary setting for Alliance Chicago games. Your character can still visit Prademar in-between games. Games may still be set in Prademar from time to time, but the focus will be on the new setting.

Can I make a new Player Character from the new land?:

Absolutely! Reach out to the Plot Team and we’ll help you as best we’re able. Public information on the new setting will be released as soon as it is available.

What if I am a nobility in Prademar or was on track to be one?

Players who have worked to achieve noble, and related, ranks in Prademar will maintain their status.

In-Between Game Actions (IBGAs):

While events are hosted in Prademar, the IBGA structure will remain the same. After the May 27th transition event, IBGAs will be standardized so all players receive a single action. This change will help reduce player confusion, resolve feelings of inequality between players, and allow the Plot Team to better focus their time. Boons acquired in-game (such as a Great Library Pass) will be honored until their expiration.

Treasure:

All properly tagged Chicago Scrolls, Catalysts, LCO Magic Items, LCO Scrolls, etc. will travel freely to the new setting.

We look forward to this new setting and seeing the stories we can all tell in 2022 and beyond!

Greetings! As we are a week away from our opener event The Plot Team wanted to clarify some things regarding this upcoming season and the transition to Gavaria. So far 15 of you have reached out via our feedback form but we want to hear more from you. We are listening to those suggestions and concerns. We understand the initial post may have come across as the Plot Team not caring about existing stories but we do care and Plot will do what we can to help you as a Player feel satisfied with your story.

Prademar is my home, why would my character leave those lands?

Think of going to Gavaria as “driving to work” or a “weekend vacation”. 3 days out of a month you are in Gavaria and return to Prademar for your character's normal everyday life. It is the same if your character travels to another Chapter. Prademar isn’t going away. Prademar will finally be at peace because of your character's actions.

There are not enough events to wrap up my character’s Prademar actions.

The Plot Team is dedicating the first 2 events of this season to on screen wrap ups for as many things as we can fit into each event. While the April Opener has a skeleton of a few key mods, the Plot Team welcomes players looking to pursue and/or conclude their plotlines. Help us give you the conclusions to these stories that you want or need to have on screen by filling out the Feedback Form! This is a great way to let us know what you’re interested in. We encourage you to come to NPC Camp and say you want to do “X”. It may take a little longer to prep, but we are happy to run something.

We are aware there are actions that are more RP focused and may not require an in person action, but are still important to your character. For this we are including an additional IBGA action for those stories that are solely in Prademar. This is an excellent use to anything to explore and wrap up without feeling there are loose ends.

I am on the noble track, or am already a noble, how will my efforts and status translate in Gavaria?

Plot is not removing or changing any PC status or title for "nobles" or other positions such as squires, cupbearers, magistrates, guild master, etc. If you are a noble in Prademar, you will be respected as a noble in Gavaria. If you have been working toward a noble title in Prademar, you will maintain that same progress toward nobility as we shift to Gavaria. If you decide to start down the noble path after we arrive in Gavaria, your future status as a noble, either seated in Prademar or Gavaria, would be the same as an equivalent noble from either kingdom. In-game reasons will be spelled out during the next few events, but rest easy that PCs will not lose any "noble" status, ability, rank, responsibilities, privileges, or progress.

Since we’re in Gavaria, would a Gavarian Player Character Noble have more power than a Prademar Noble?

Player Characters from Prademar and Gavaria will be of equal Noble rank. A PC Gavarian noble would not outrank a Prademar PC noble. An updated Nobility Document is being worked on and should be posted in the coming weeks. Overall the process will make it easier to become a noble and remove some of the restrictions to retaining nobility status. Stay tuned!

The Plot Team wants to produce the best game and experience possible. We understand there is a rich history in Prademar and we want to help as many of those stories as possible reach their final conclusion, but we need your help. Fill out the below Feedback survey. Let us know what you’d like to wrap up these next two events. The April Events are your events.
