The guest-plot world you can visit for the Chicago October 1st weekend event. Rathfall is a sprawling city-state eperopolis with a rich history we cannot wait for you to discover. Listed below is a primer for some of the more unique design aspects we are looking to bring to this brand new world.
Law and Order: Laws in Rathfall are extremely strict. Should anyone misspeak in front of a noble or disrupt the systems of the city, they will face possible imprisonment during the weekend. If you find yourself under arrest, you will be taken to The Cage. Know that being in prison will be its own module (imprisonment lasting about the same time period of a typical mod). Certain NPCs, storylines, and items can only be found if you go to prison. So while you absolutely can resist imprisonment, you don’t need to out of concern of being taken out of the story for the weekend.
Allegiance System: Adventurers will be highly sought after in Rathfall. In fact, one of the best ways to avoid harsh punishment from the law is to have a Noble House sponsor you. Don’t be surprised if nobility and factions seek you out to join their side. This tribalism isn’t designed to split apart PCs, but rather to unlock more mods, story revelations, perks, and rewards. So should your character agree to join a certain Rathfall House, choose wisely.
Musicians Wanted: We plan to have a formal dinner/dance for Saturday night. Bluetooth music is okay, BUT live music is better! If you are coming to the event and can play a relatively in-period instrument, please email (dereksturn@gmail.com) to let us know! We’d love to fold you into the evening story in a cool way!
Mod Paths: Are you more of a combat LARP player? Do you loathe or love puzzles? Maybe you flock to RP-heavy mods? Perhaps you are a new player and worry about being overpowered easily in an adventure? Good news is that for this weekend, specific factions will be offering missions that are tailored for the type of larp play you want.
