How does sex in a Larp work?

Hi everybody!

I'm a total noob regarding larps, so please be patient. My question is not aimed at real-life sex, it's about how sex between played characters is portrayed. Are there any rules about that?

Example: Two characters are partners, married or something the like, and their players would want to play out sex. How would they do it?

Thanks :)

Back in the day when my old character was married to someone else's old character and we were just friends out of game... back rubs and playing cards off from the general populace.

Preferably between events. :p

Anything the participants feel comfortable with, there are no "wear a teal headband to indicate you are in coitus" rules.

There is a term referred to as "fading to black" whereby the people in question head away from others and talk out-of-game for a bit. Maybe discuss what happened if anything of note came up.

In other words, keep it classy and out of the eyes of anyone who isn't directly involved.

The Northwest Nerdcast is a podcast about roleplaying and they discuss this a bit in a couple of their episodes, which I have linked below.

Please note that while the casters do an excellent job of keeping the topic of sex steered in a grown-up direction discussion-wise, they are all friends so they rib each other and can be heard using profane language occasionally. If this upsets you, this is your warning.

They have some overlap content-wise, but they are both worth a listen.

Me: "Why am I being arrested??"
Town Guard: "Indecency!"
Me: "What are you talking about? I haven't... oh." *realizes he still has his teal headband on*

*chuckles* You missed where the New Player Rep already beat you to promoting it!

That said, yeah... Fade To Black is the most appropriate way to handle this.
