IBGA - Invitation & Escort Mission

Hey Ashbury players,

If you would like to be in on the mission Flint will be undertaking if the Paladins accept his offer of escort to Fairdale please PM me or let me know here. I want to get the writeup in as soon as possible.

Please note: This may result in those PCs having to NPC Friday night as a result of travel time, and for it to make sense when we all arrive in Fairdale Saturday morning. That's completely up to plot and may not happen at all! We might be back in time to PC Friday night while the Paladins make camp someplace - who knows? Plot.

So! Let me know, and thanks.

Have a Sevaria. Nothing can possibly go wrong with that.

Ferra wants to go too!

I have every intention of letting this be a thing and it will require an NPC shift friday night while the entrance happens saturday morning.

I DON'T KNOW IF YOU REMEMBER THIS, BUT I FREAKING MAJORED IN TRUMPET. I HAVE NO LESS THAN 5 TRUMPETS. COLLIN BABCOCK. YES. YES YES YES.

YAAAAAAYYYYY!!! SUSIE LEE IS MY FREAKING HERO!! :hahaha:

Same way you major in Voice like Maggie and I did, ya dink :p Music majors are a thing, and a hard thing at that!

Susie,

We need to develop a wooden trumpet so Alda can play it without a terribly pained look on her poor sweet, beautiful face.

Darnit racial drawbacks.

Susie - is this a thing that is possible? That would be outstanding.

Nope. Don't get the proper vibrations from wood. :-/

I read the title and thought Justin was turning Flint into a Dwarven gigolo.

Actually, one of the earliest orchestral trumpets (called a Cornetto, used in 1610ish) was a long wooden tube with a wooden mouthpiece. Remarkably hard to play. Vibrations are still possible, just not nearly as resonant. Also, I don't own a cornetto. :(

I've not heard of a modern mouthpiece made of wood, but there are PLASTIC modern mouthpieces. ... I don't own one of those, either. I actually find them quite terrible, but they are used for serial marching bandies or sometimes jazzers who don't want their lips to freeze off as much and/or like the shriek-y, thin tone.

... All that being said, you know a modern trumpet is terribly anachronistic, right? We didn't even have KEYS until like 1794, and that was still a bit before valves. Hmmm.

So for serious, do we want me to bring my horn? Do we want me to NPC-shift to play it?

(PS: .... <3 <3 <3)

<inset joke involving the words "Susie" and "Horny" here>

There are so many to choose from I just can't decide...

Suzie,
First of all if I wanted to go down the list of anachronisms we would all go insane (and I am ignoring the kitchen).

That said, can you play it Bugle style (I imagine yes)

Oh, and sometimes something like that is so cool we just say do it.
