At more than a few LARP events we've attended in the past decade or so, there has been a decided lack of themed lighting for players to utilize. Many games limit the type and size of light sources (for both practical and thematic reasons) to simple glo-sticks, or the occasional real-world lantern that gives plenty of light but introduces safety concerns that limit the player in the carrying role.
We wondered if we (using the newest materials technologies and some engineering and ingenuity) couldn't come up with a LARP-safe, immersive lighting prop that would still conform to the practicals of most LARP events rules.
