National Event 2012

I spoke with Christina about it a few months ago.

She asked me to be the head of plot for the National Event next summer. I'm up for it, but if anyone would like there to be a nomination process and a vote, let's do that, and soon.

Either way, we have about a year to get this puppy together.

First off, who is interested in helping to write and run the next National?

I had a lot of fun helping out with the National last year, so I'm def game to help out with the next one. Just let me know what you want me to do.

Well, if I end up being the ring leader, the first thing I would like you to do is a fairly simple task:

Tell me about your chapter.

I'm planning on coordinating a huge write up for the players to read leading up to the National, and I need about a two page plot summary of each chapter who wants to be involved. Then hopefully all the chapters involved in the write up will also want to be the chapters involved in the National event plot.

Gary

P.S. To answer Markusdark, I have no clue. If anyone knows the precedent that's been set, I'm all ears. If it ends up being up to me, I'd say anyone on the National plot team should at least currently be on a plot team for an Alliance chapter.

I'd be up helping with writing and such. I believe the previous event was meant to be "a taste of Alliance" from every chapter. I have a few ideas about how I think we could build and improve on the standards set, but then, I'm occasionally known to have opinions. ;)

Ah well that leaves me out then.

No need to be left out!

The only reason I'd like current Alliance plot writers primarily involved is because (if we do this right) this will be a big project, and we want to give each chapter, who wants to do so, a chance to show off their stuff.

Regardless of not currently being on an Alliance plot team we could of course still very much use your help in other areas that are equally important: playing certain npc roles, making props, set design (you never know) and anything else you or I could think of over the course of the next year.

And you never know, if we don't get enough plot writers showing interest in writing and running encounters for the National we may very well need to pull in players who aren't currently on a plot team, but right now it's too early to tell.

Nawwww! No wai!

It would actually be really helpful to know who the heads of plot are for each chapter, and to have their emails.

Does anyone have a full list?

If not, anyone interested in acquiring this by emailing around?

If not, just tell me who the head of plot is for the chapters you play, or know about.

Caldaria's head of plot is Jessie, but Karl functions as our main co-ordnator.

Also, I'm totaly down for writing whatever you need.

Excellent, thanks. I'm going to contact people individually. Working on the whole list right now.

/potentially likewise, depending on location. I wouldn't mind writing a little bit for this..but I'd really want to PC it.

I'm really interested in trying to have it held out in Ohio again. I know there is no Alliance chapter out there anymore, but that honestly might almost be peace engendering aspect. I know CT has a trailer so its possible I could work out something with JesseH to use that to provide a reasonable monster camp (if not CT's stuff).

In fact I'm personally interested into looking into what would be involved with rending out a site for a weekend or long weekend and am planning to try and start talking to appropriate higher ups I know to see how to get this rolling.

It might seem like an 'easy' option to just have it at HQ like 3 years ago, but honestly I'd do just about anything to avoid that. That event hardly felt 'national' at all and was not very diversely attended and I think the location was a significant factor.

How about a site in the midwest instead of the east coast again, i.e., MI, IL, or MN?

That would also be great! I'd also be interested in helping to support that effort as well.

In IL, our biggest issue is the lack of a site that would be big enough for such an event. I'd welcome help in finding a new site, as we are starting to outgrow our current one. Please contact me offline if you're interested in aiding with this (even if it isn't for a national event... yes, there'd be gobs involved).

SoMN has a site we rented out with a castle, its a fairly big camp with great dinning hall facility and lots of other cabins and no big hills.
