New Characters and the July Event

Due to the nature of this event, characters who are making their debut in July should figure out a way they got on the ships that are traveling from Bayside to Death's Islands. Your character needs to be on the boat when the event starts. If you are arriving late, your character can have been in the hold (sleeping, hung over, sick or seasick, whichever; make something up that works for why you weren't with the other PCs when the game started).

Unless you have cleared it with Plot prior to this posting, characters should not begin play on Death's Islands for many reasons (character histories from Death's Islands are disallowed at this time, you as a player don't know any information about Death's Islands to write an appropriate character history there or know enough to portray a character who's been there for a while, very very few people even can navigate the waters in Death's Islands and your character is not allowed to be one of those people, etc).

Some options for how you got onto the ships:
  • You wanted to join the adventure to Death's Islands and boarded at Bayside or Port Bayenna. Possibly you heard there was an expedition leaving from there and came to Bayside or Port Bayenna to join in.
  • You wanted adventure or work aboard a ship, and you boarded when the ship landed for provisioning (Silverthal in the Wylands, or in the Mystic Marsh along the Sapphire River).
  • You're doing some odd job aboard the ship (you should have Craftsman Other: Sailor if you're a sailor, but there are plenty of lower skill jobs you could be doing - deck swab, cook's assistant, etc) and signed on prior to Bayside, at Bayside, or at one of the provisioning stops.
  • You're a shipwreck survivor who was picked up from a wreck, the water, or a spit of an island on the outskirts of Death's Islands (and haven't had any experience of the actual interior islands).
  • Something else, so long as it gets you on the ship before Death's Islands.
