Hello Alliance Headquarters players!
As Staff was preparing for this season, we encountered an interesting situation:
A number of players have brought to our attention that they have plentiful Goblin Stamps, but there aren’t many attractive avenues in which to spend them. This will be compounded by the phase-out of the Plot Point system, as existing Points will be converted to Goblin Stamps.
In addition to being another way to reward dedicated players, one of the Plot Point system’s goals was to enhance player immersion at game via off-screen, in-between-game actions. It’s notable that the “green-tag” item system described on Page 33 of the Rulebook similarly supports this role. However, tagged items of this nature are rarely purchased, due in part to players’ reluctance to use IG coin for this.
So starting in 2016, you will be able to purchase similar items using your Goblin Stamps! There are a few key differences, though. Most importantly, items purchased with Goblin Stamps will have no value per the game mechanics, which means that they will not be eligible to be sold with the Merchant skill. (However, most tags will be tradeable, so they will have whatever value the IG community determines.) Additionally, purchases made this way must occur between events via an email to Plot and Logistics. Players who buy items of this type will receive their tags at Friday night Logistics, but additional purchases may not be made at that time. As with the existing, coin-bought “green-tagged” items, purchases using Goblin Stamps are subject to Plot approval, which will consider IG availability. For example, it’s unlikely that you’ll be able to find a full fleet of merchant ships just waiting for you to buy!
Plot intends to keep a record of these purchases. If you happen to have hired three Apprentice Shipwrights from Dockside last month, and this month’s event is set in Dockside, people just might know you and come to you for [help/more work/praise/revenge]. Similarly, if you and your friends are going to explore some tunnels outside of town, it could be a three-minute return trip to town for those of you with a “Riding Horse” tag, but a ten-minute trip for those without (per the Marshal’s instructions).
Below please find the list of purchasable items. Trained Animals, Ground Transport, Water Transport, Housing, and Hirelings would be as described on Page 33 of the Rulebook, but at double Goblin Stamp cost. Items that we predict to be popular are included in the table below as well. Note that this list is not exhaustive; if there is something you want to buy that’s not on Page 33 or listed below, let us know!
