New player wanting to join

Hey all,
My name is Will and I would love to come out to your next event. My friend Brian was at one of your event a few months ago as an NPC and told about it. It sounded really neat so I was thinking about coming out to your next event. What do I need to do in order to make a new character and such?
 
My name is Will and I'm 28 years old. I'll be coming in from Corvallis along with Brian. I was thinking of making a Templar character, either High Orc, or High Ogre. But right now I'm leaning towards High Orc. As for that I was hoping to get some help with writing up the new character. I have the base book on digits but I have been having some trouble making heads or tails of it. Is there anyone in the Corvallis area that would be able to assist me in this endeavor?
 
Jp, (Oregon Head of Plot), Holly (Oregon Plot), Carmen (Seattle Plot), and myself (Seattle Head of Plot/General Manager) all live in Corvallis. I'm sure some combination of us can talk to you about the system and character stuff at some point before the Oregon Event if you want.
