The title reads: Notes from the Lore Masters' Guild - Subject: The Lost City

Lost City Notes from Other folks
- As we walk up there seems to be more wildlife and fewer people in the howling woods

- We use a secret entrance usable during daytime, but you need to use tracking skills to
cover your tracks so that this entrance remains hidden

- Entering Ring 7 (Adventurer Level 1) - It is propped open, but once used a spoon to
enter. In general, you just have to put something from within the city into the drawer, but
again it’s broken so you can just get in now.

- Had a library we visited

- Entering Ring 6 (Adventurer Level 2) - rung a specific charm near the doorway

- In Ring 6 is the City Administration Buildings

- Entering Ring 5 (Adventurer Level 3) - had to hold a medallion we earned into the space,
while reciting one of the tenets of the Code of Chivalry

- There were spirits present in this ring, and they are still there now. These spirits
are essentially echoes of the past, of moments of panic from the cataclysm,
ghostly echoes of memories from that time.

- There were amphitheatres and theatres on this level

- Entering Ring 4 (Adventurer Level 4) - We had to sing a song (which had been found in
the Library in Ring 7) to open this door

- Ring 4 has the museums… lots of museums (think like Washington DC, and the
Museums on the Mall)

- There was one more in tact than others, an that’s where they found Franklin, as
well as taxidermy animals who were mixes between two animals

- Entering Ring 3 (Adventurer Level 5) - There is a Sphinx who says “Tell me what you
learned on the outermost ring of the City (Ring 7)

- Things we said:

- Ring 7, the thing we learned was “thou shalt not lie.”

- Ring 6, the thing we learned was “thou shalt perform thy duty wherein it is
not contrary to the laws of the land.”

- Ring 5, the thing we learned was “thou shalt not recoil before thine
enemy.”

- Ring 4, the thing we learned was “thou shalt be generous and give freely.”

- “Knowing what you’ve learned through this point, what do you believe you must
do to pass through me to the gate behind me”

- We must give freely. Mevanwy pulls out a spare dagger, as she felt that
the denizens of this city had needed a way to protect themselves. The
dagger disappeared and the gate cracked slightly

- It seems we each needed to give something

- Blaidrym gives up an endow potion, because he felt they could’ve used
strength. It disappears and the gate cracks more

- To test, we Putting money did not work. It needs to be something of use.

- It also needs to be something physical, not simply casting magic into the
stone.

- Quin places a notebook full of notes he’d taken regarding some craftsmen
skills he practices. He gave knowledge. The notes disappear and the gate
opens more so that we can see inside

- In ring 3, we see a mountain before us, the remains of a path is there… very
crumbled.

- Quin uses Craftsmen Botany, and learns there were temperate, northern
rainforest plans, conifer trees and ferns. There’s not many deciduous
trees

- Quin moves ahead and uses rope to tie off the rope along the way so that
folks can guide themselves up the path.

- There is a gate ahead of us, and two squadrons of emotives (aka 100-ish
emotives)

- There are three more emotives, much larger than the others, and those
ones move toward us. They show us Rhorsharchs.

- One must control their emotions. For a Juren, they pay her no mind.

- There is someone who says “I am the guardian”. When we ask if we may
pass, and he says “you may pass, but you must qualify. You must be
careful. If you do not answer correctly you will be ejected.” We learned
that the others who answered the previous questions incorrectly were
ejected.

- Guardian asks Blaidrym “Who are you?” …. Blaidrym responds with “I am
a selunari who was once a friend, a companion, and more. To a
wonderful person up north. Yes, for a long time now, years, we have been
separated due to forces beyond our control. So I am a person who has
tried desperately and unsuccessfully to get back… taking whatever
chances I can to get better. But ultimately I have failed often in my
attempts to save or keep safe the people around me, to keep my loved
ones safe, and I am someone who has experienced sadness and loss
because of my own failures, but someone who must push on through
those failures to try and find a better way to the future.

- Guardian says “You may pass.”

- Guardian asks “who is next?”.... Bluwolf steps forward. “What do you
want”, asks the guardian. Bluwolf responds with “I want to live a full life
where I may travel the world and aid those who need it while practicing
my art and my craft. While learning secrets long forgotten for the sake of
the future. And protect those who cannot protect themselves. I want to
thrive.”

- Guardian says “you may pass.”

- Quin steps forward. The guardian asks “who are you?”, to which Quin
says “I feel the only true answer to your question is that I have no answer.
I found myself recently as a new race and among new people, and with a
family I did not know I had. I am struggling to find who I am as a result of
that.”

- “One must be more sure… to pass.” …. And he is ejected.

- Yohtie answers “what do you want” with “I wans to see things I can’t,
experience things I never have before. I am half blind, and I want to see
the stars, see civilizations and cultures and people I’ve never gotten teh
chance to experience thus far.

- “You may pass.”

- Mevanwy answered, but she failed. But because of her control over her
emotions, she simply took some damage and the ejection failed.

- “I wnat to protect those I care about, find a way to restore the well in the
center of this city, and save my mother from a fate she has been
suffering.”

- “You may pass.”

- The Guardian asks us what we wish to learn. This is the level of higher
learning.

- “We wish to learn about your city. We wish to learn of a person
who spent much time here, a Bramble Mossleaf.

- The Guardian: “Ohhh, I know that name. It is an old name. He
reflected often that he had the shard’s best interest in his heart,
and he was searching for teh magic that would keep it safe for all
eternity.”

- “He then spent a lot of time in the library in the next ring. He liked
a certain set of pictures, and respected the motivation, but they
seemed to be missing the greater picture when it came to being
faced with death and defeat.”

- “In recollection, Bramble Mossleaf depressed that he

- He admitted he could be petty, and believe the magic should be
freely accessible to everybody. It IS, but you simply must
understand the magic.”

- “You may all enter this gate freely any time you wish.”

- Inside the next door, we see easily double the number of emotives, but
they are not measured. They are quickly moving towards us, and we need
to regroup. We close the gate and return.

★ Erase our tracks upon entering and exiting.

★ We make it past Level Four to Level Five.

★ Level Five has two large squads of emotives, with three leaders. The leaders will approach, and
give a test. The test must be answered correctly to advance. An incorrect answer will result in
teleporting back to the first gate, gravely injured.

○ Each Emotive will offer an Ink Blot and ask what you see.
■ The Joy Emotive wants to hear joy, and pleasure, and happiness. Dig deep and
answer from your heart about what makes you happy.

■ The Rage Emotive wants to hear rage, anger, fury, war. Search your heart for
what makes you furious and share that.

■ The Sorrow Emotive wants to hear sadness, heartbreak, and regret. Find in your
soul something sorrowful to speak to it.

★ Level Six’s gate is a mirror-masked individual who asks a question about who you are. You
cannot answer with surface level heroics. You must speak of what emotions embody you, and
your passions and fears.

★ To cross level Six, you face a furious army of Emotives which must be snuck past or beaten
down. Unfortunately with the four of us, we weren’t able to pass to the next gate.

Midnight is working with the Duchess to distribute this document to all corners of the shard so that all may know. Acarthian Riders deliver these to taverns and inns across the entire shard. He makes special care to have them delivered to the Dark Elves and the Dwarfs as well. Lastly he includes a copy to Aetheria, for Neysa.
