Notice of Herbal Purification

A notice is posted on several bulletin boards and posts in New Acarthia

This Friday evening at roughly 11 bells (following the Healer's Guild meeting), the Healer's Guild will attempt an Herbal Purification. This process cleanses necromantic herbs that the Guild has collected of the taint they have absorbed, leaving the herbs usable for more constructive purposes.

This process is far more dangerous than it sounds, as it releases energies and scents into the air that attract the undead or other monsters to the scene, so while adventurers, nobles, guards, and the Vigilant are encouraged to attend, citizens are advised to avoid the area until the threat has been quelled.

As dangerous as this process is, it was not proposed simply to cleanse herbs. You may recall in October of last year a certain phenomenon that caused various problems, among them allowing undead to wander the city unchallenged for a time. While most of these have been destroyed since then, the Guild hopes to use this process to draw out undead stragglers that may still be lurking in forgotten places to destroy them.

If you have questions or concerns about this, please present them to Guildmistress Cynder before or during the Healer's Guild meeting on Friday evening.

Unrelated to this, I must also announce that the Life Grove has reached the end of its natural cycle and has perished. The environs are no longer in a perpetual growing season, so herbalists that relied on it for fresh herbs during the winter months should save themselves the trip.
