Greetings,

Anyone know knows me knows that since I started playing (5-6 years ago at this point) I have been struggling with my gear. I'm not talking about weapons/armor/magic items... those are a different subject. My main issue has been with my OOG gear..... the stuff I carry so I can be ready for all the various situations that I might encounter. I've wasted hundreds of dollars on pouches, belts, etc only to see it all go to waste as it just ends up getting in the way/not working well enough.

So I turn to all of you. Whats your OOG gear loadout? What belts/pouches/bags/portable holes do you use to make sure you have the right stuff on you at the right time?

Regards,

Stephen

Dude, I feel your pain. In the last ten years I don't even want to count the stuff I've bought, made, traded. I've just about finally gotten to the point where my gear totally works. All of it is custom. I recommend you speak to drenton Mike, he can make you armor, pouches, etc. He even helped me make a bracer that has two stop watches hidden in it under a leather flap, pretty snazzy. If you want advice feel free to email me or call. I've gone through every frigging outfit concept out there. I generally know what works, what doesn't, and why.

On the Ohio site I'm trying to compile a list of Alliance player/supporter Vendors -- if anyone wants to be added to that list please give me a PM. If you have a website great- if you don't we can give you a Blog on the Ohio site that you'll be able to create a sales page on as well-- (its a Wordpress so you'll have your own username/password).

Maybe they'll have some IG gear you can get. :)

You can find our Vendor list here: VENDOR PAGE

I really want to flesh this page out to give our players (and all Alliance players) a quick link page to support OTHER Alliance players who have talents and skills to make our characters look great--

If you want to create a Blog on our site the info is under the Character Info menu as well-

I make my own gear as needed. Like my idea of a 16 dose potion 'bottle' or my 5 scroll battle rod. What I have done with people in the past is that I've asked them what they were looking for, we'd send back and forth a few emails until we come up with a working model and then I work on building it.

I've had good luck with Russian surplus ammunition pouches, but they're getting harder to find.

You can try musuem replicas or by the sword they sell tons of stuff ( belts, pouches, costumes, cloaks, etc.).

Hey! The board automatically censored me! That's pretty cool...yet disturbing...at the same time.

that happens to me all the time.

I put random word replacements in on our boards a few times.

makes for interesting posts.

thats just the boards way of saying watch out for this guy :P
and your posts tend to be interesting regardless of you putting in random word replacements.

back to the subject at hand, ive ordered some stuff from this site before. http://www.medievalcollectibles.com and they have tons of stuff

Though they don't look 100% period I've had a lot of luck with my $5 army surplus two-pocket belt pouch. The plain black ones are discreet enough, and the second pouch makes it easy to keep tags and IG stuff separate.

Locally, I pick up pouches as I find em- surplus is always good if you're not too worried about perfect period-ness.

If you're willing to be patient, a lot of leatherworkers can make containers to-order. They're not THAT hard to make, which is why nearly any RenFaire leather shop has tons of pouches on hand.
