Repel

I searched the forums, and couldn't find if this was ever answered:

Repel in 2008 had an 'instantaneous' effect, meaning the 'barrier' was up as long as the hand was held up. This allowed a monster to have multiple repels on them at once (as well as not repel themselves and drop it to end a repel on them).

It also says the duration is 'concentration' but also says you can use the other hand for IG skills. Also, can you dispel or purify repel, if so, who are you supposed to target (the person being repelled, or the repeller)?

Can we get this clarified what the duration should be and what you can and can't do?

Thanks,
dave

The current version of the Alliance Rule Book has Repel listed as "Concentration" (both under the spell description and as an example of "concentration" type effects). Please note that the current version of the ARB always supercedes any prior versions of the rulebook. In no way is it "Instantaneous" under the current rules; if you see it listed as "Instantaneous" in the current rulebook somewhere please notify ARC so that we can get it fixed.

Purify specifically notes that it will dispel everything in the Binding effect group. Dispel says the it will remove *all* active effects on a creature. Thus, Purify or Dispel on the victim of a Repel will remove the effect.
