With respect to the toll taken on the Royal Court of Acarthia, and its respective Ducal Courts by events of the past decade, His Majesty King Nigel Moorefield approves the following change to the time-honored Order of Lucious:

Henceforth, Knights of the Royal Court, and Knights of the Ducal Courts may be nominated for membership within the Order of Lucious. Review of such candidates shall remain the purview of that revered Order and its members. Once admitted to the Order of Lucious, Knights shall remain eligible for service as Paladins throughout their lifetime, provided that their knighthood remains in good standing.

Knights of the Order of Lucious may be called by the Order to serve as Paladins for limited engagements. Service as Paladins may include, but is not limited to the following duties:

  • Training and supervision of squires
  • Conducting Trials of Knighthood for squires
  • Training and supervision of future candidates for the Order of Lucious
  • Investigation of charges against the Noble Peers of Acarthia
  • Criminal or Chivalric trial of the Noble Peers of Acarthia, to be conducted by no fewer than three Paladins of the Order of Lucious
  • Criminal or Chivalric investigation of the Monarch of Acarthia, to be conducted by no fewer than seven Paladins of the Order of Lucious

Invitation to service will be for a limited engagement, to address a specific task. Then the Knight so invited may return to his usual duties until again called to service once more by the Order of Lucious.

All current Knights of the Order of Lucious in good standing shall retain their membership in the Order.

From this 1st day of June, 418, henceforth, the Councils of Paladins of the Kingdom of Acarthia, Duchy of Acarthia, Duchy of Lomeeria, and Duchy of Rowan are hereby disbanded by order of His Majesty King Nigel Moorefield.

Recorded By my hand,
Sir Dugan McCallister
Former Knight Commander, Royal Council of Paladins
Order of the Rising Star
