The Town Guard watchtowers have spotted smoke coming out of the Howling Woods north of New Acarthia. This is more than just cooking fires -- and pretty unusual since we've had recent snows so fire shouldn't be a big risk this time of year. Whatever's burning out there isn't by accident.
Monster activity continues to be fierce. We're seeing a lot of of goblins, in particular, coming out of the woods and into the city, which doesn't happen a lot. Something's going on with them. And still more ogres mad that Dargok the Unkillable is jailed in the city somewhere. Those attacks are going to go on until he's set free or resurrects back in the woods, that's for sure. Be careful in the city - the Howling Woods are restless.
