The current state of armor

With the upcoming changes to armor rules I want to confirm the current state of armor materials. Specifically that aluminum chain mail is still a 2 point material and steel chain mail is still a 3 point location. I suspect that nothing has changed but I'm asking anyway so I can plan accordingly for my armor upgrades and the coming rules change.

Nothing as changed in regards to the current rules, no.

Which is unfortunate as I run around in plate. :p

Just to be clear... heavy steel chain mail is 3 pts per location. So it has to have a certain wire thickness, and spacing per the rulebook.

Yeah, if you're using the lightweight ringmesh-style aluminum chainmail (which I love and use), it is only 2-points.

As noted by Ben, not all steel chain mail should count for 3 point. Only tightly woven thick rings will count for 3 point per location armor. I've seen a fair number of folks show up with insufficiently thick or insufficiently tightly woven steel chain and receive 2 points per location due to those factors.
