We need your help! LARP the Movie!

To the Honorable Alliance Larp Organization,

My name is Gordon Dunn. I am an actor/producer for ExMachina Films located in Salt Lake City Utah. As Luke has already mentioned in an earlier post (THANKS LUKE!) We have been developing a script/film for the past four and a half years and we were recently attended Comiccon FanX and had a great time speaking the the Amtgard chapter and several other LARP groups there. Since then we have been trying to reach out to as many LARP communities that we can find in not only the USA but worldwide as well! The name of the film that we are currently producing is called LARP the Movie. We want this film to be different than any other film created thus far. Other films (such as Role Models and Knights of Badassdom) depict Live Action Role Play and its players as losers and uses the activity as the butt end of a joke. We want to create the film that the LARP community deserves.

In our film we see what the players see and experience their world through their eyes. As the story goes on the comedy comes from the mundane nature of the real world compared to the awesome and totally badass world of the game. We also see characters who were judgmental of the LARPing community fully become a part of the world after getting sucked into it!

We started our Kickstarter campaign to secure the rest of our funding to begin shooting this film and now we need the LARP communities aid! We are asking that you take a look at our material and kickstarter video as well as all of our other content and then judge for yourself. If you like it and become interested in helping us reach our goal please pledge and then it and share it in person, on your FB group page and over your other social media outlets. The more people we reach the sooner we can get to making the film that the LARP world deserves and shows it for the complete badassery that it is.

We are currently sponsored by Calimacil and Epic Larp Armory and one of our largest backers and executive producers is the creator and maintainer of the LARP City Project, whom we are announcing a donation program for as well soon! So when you help us, you are helping the LARP City Project get off the ground as well! We have been covered in the media thus far by crolarper.com, larpbook.com, gamebreaker.tv as well as several local companies and Fox 13 news. We will also be featured in the German LARP magazine LARP zeit soon and will be heard on The-Not-So-Cool-Kids podcast in June. You can reach all our content from www.larpthemovie.com or our kickstarter directly at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1667673638/larp-the-movie

To anyone interested in hearing more or if you would like a copy of our official National Press release you can contact me directly at gordon@exmachinafilms.com or you can reach out to the two email addresses listed below if you are interested in helping us with a larger donation than is available on our kickstarter or have any questions about the project.
