Weapon weighting question

Hi all,

I am thinking about putting some heavy nuts inside the base of the core (farthest possible from the blade) of my pole arm. I even thought about doing the same for the swords I am making to avoid them swinging like bats. Is this allowed? Or will doing this get my weapons rejected by the weapons marshal? Any advice on this will be very helpful. Thanks in advance.

Counter weighting is allowed though you likely don’t need to go as far as putting anything that heavy down in the hilt. You can often counter just by using tape and grip wrappings to get what you are looking for. So long as the weapon is padded safely and no one is complaining of it hurting when it strikes you should be alright.

If you do counter weight it, make sure they are the nuts are secure so they don't slide up and down the core. Travis makes a great point though.

I've tried nuts and bolts on the back of the pipe and they dont move the center of weight much and they arent as secure as you want.

Lead tape might do what you want more safely
