The question arose on this scroll because Vera paid 5sp to get it identified and we were told by "someone" (I truly don't recall who) that it should have a bounty of ~1gp. Not huge dealings here but as this was before the current loot split method, she asked me about it and I brought it up here...
Just for clarification with those who choose to use "pretty" weapons - The tag doesn't have to be visible, just on the weapon so that it can be removed if stolen, correct? I.E. you can cover a tag on a black blade with a piece of black tape or rolled up and slid into a leather handle?
That Panthergast scroll was looted by Bremmus and Vera on a joint kill, in an operation where the loot was not being split. (In fact, it resulted in a bit of an .. ahem dispute, which Jessie was called in to reconcile.) Vera and I decided to turn that in to Baron Egil as the appropriate...
I love how people jump to the conclusion that any one of the Scions speaks for all the Scions. We don't work that way, I'm speaking as myself, the player of who pays $ and works even harder to make the time to play in this game. Izzy or Paxton don't speak for me any more than I do for them...
I call ********. The general opinion against the Scions isn't even vaguely hidden. This is not an IC issue, it's an OOC issue. The players who portray the Scions put $5700+/year into event registration and customers regardless of faction shouldn't be treated this way.
Well, considering it a non-striking weapon I think that's kind of a moot point... Also, I'm Calabrese so you can probably hit me in the head with a lot of things that wouldn't be acceptable to other people!
Thanks for the clarifications, I'll likely make a core-less higher density foam crossbow...
One last nitpick - there is no limit to foam density, correct? So in theory I could use a carve a 20# closed cell extruded block?
Best I could tell the rules state "foam" - that leaves a lot of leeway (for someone who sells building materials...) considering it's essentially a physrep and not...
Yep, can't block with an xbow, only a bow (which has a core) here is an image of a typical medieval crossbow:
http://uncrate.com/p/2011/04/medieval-crossbow-xl.jpg
The "block" is the part in front of the limb, the sinew is used to secure the limb, around the block through a hole I, the stock...
So using a block and sinew to secure the limb (like a typical medieval xbow) would be permitted so ling as the stock, block and limb were made of foam?
This is mostly intended for Trace, Zac and Jessie, I suppose, but I figured I'd throw it on here since I've had this discussion with the other archers and no one is quite clear on it.
It doesn't appear that there is a minimum/maximum length on the limb (bow part) for a crossbow - is this the...
Parcival: May we ask what is your name?
David (snarling as grill npc): I am Quann
P: Well, then there can be only Quann! (Initiates Scion diplomacy) 5 normal, 5 normal 5 normal - lands three blows
D: *eyerolls* and delays action due to bad pun.
