I just bought my first set of 14 gauge chainmail from Dark Age creations and it seems like a few rings have fallen out with my first few times trying it on, is this a normal thing?

Seemed like it, there was one that appeared to be missing from the chest but the rest seemed to be armpit.
If you just got the mail and are losing rings from the chest, that's a fairly major issue, especially if it continues to happen.
The armpit ones, because that's where you have a couple layers of chain and a couple intersections and a relatively significant amount of movement, are just going to happen.
Hopefully, they sent you some extra links and you own two pairs of pliers.
