    This may also explain why Scout is so uncompelling: the thing that makes Spell Swords and Adepts cool is the abilities that people in one class might want from another. In order for Scout to be compelling, Fighters would need something big that we regret giving up by not buying Stealth skills.

    Are other chapters seeing Rogue archers? I haven't seen any, personally. The lack of the 1.5 multiplier Fighters get from profs on bows and it taking 3 buys of Improved Assassinate/Improved Slay before Assassinate catches up to Slay heavy crossbow damage has thus far seemed to be dealbreakers.

    The problem with rogue from my point of view (as someone who's main'ed rogue since 2008-ish) is that what had been fun about Rogue isn't as fun anymore. Without an effect that has an extremely strong possibility of taking someone down in a single hit, you can't play the extreme waylay game...

    I'm glad you are looking forward to it, and like I said above by embracing Rogue as a different play style of melee fighter I think there is a lot of potential there. It is just unrelated to the rogue game many of us have been playing.

    If I were a min-maxer I wouldn't play a race that spent half a level on craftsman anyway and I'm sure it's possible to rationalize why it's fine, especially if it wouldn't affect your characters: I just wanted to be sure people were disadvantaging MWEs on purpose rather than by accident.
