Class and School Breakup September '19

Well, there’s something that this doesn’t touch on. Dipping. Or as I like to call it, pseudohybrids. This grid doesn’t show the amount of fighters or scholars who’ve dipped into Stealth for Dodges, particularly Scholars who have dipped for United Blow (I’m heading there myself)! It doesn’t...

    Why don't you NPC?

Ehhhh, I'm not sure how effective that data is. Consider: 1. A four month window is an awfully small sample size when you consider the scheduling fluctuations within the Alliance; some chapters are almost certainly underrepresented, while others may be over-represented. This is especially true...

    Why don't you NPC?

I feel like to explore why people aren't NPC'ing, it's important to find out why people are. In my experience, the primary drivers for NPCing are: 1) Financial (in Seattle and Oregon, NPCs do not pay an event fee). 2) First event low-investment. 3) Veteran player wanting to help tell a story...

Spellsword is way more popular than I expected. Scholars are as popular as I expected.

    Why don't you NPC?

I used to NPC for one chapter and PC for the other. Unfortunately, the schedules for them have been too close to each other in order for me to do both with anything like regularity (I'm finally hitting the NPC chapter after being gone for...over a year, I think). I don't mind double-hooking...

    Poisoned food

@Polare, any chance this was removed in error when poisoned food was removed during an early packet?

Also, Scenting allows you to detect the presence of alchemy.

    Alliance 2.0 Rulebook: Beta 2

That’s not accurate. Poison Shield = 20 PP, 4th level “potion” equivalent. Antidote doesn’t have a spell equivalent, but if it did, the closest it would be would be Awaken/Cleanse, which would be 4th level. 20 PP. Paralysis - 40 PP, same as an 8th level potion. Sleep - 30 PP, same as a 6th...

    Sling use?

Omg, I thought I edited that out, because I caught the error. Then in my haste to remember the weapon, I forgot to edit it.

    Traps and large area's

If the area is one large room IG, it would all have to be trapped. However, at Plot/NPC Marshal’s discretion, you could separate your cave into several sections IG. An example of this would be when you use the barn, but the PCs are traveling through “winding corridors.” Feel free to draw lines...

    Resolved Florentine Change?

In the 1.3 ARB, Florentine allowed a player to use two weapons, and one the weapons could not be longer than a dagger. This allowed Long/Dagger as an option. In 2.0, Florentine was changed where you could use two Shortswords, but it appears that the Long/Dagger is no longer an option. Is that...

    Drain vs Enfeeble

Do you have data regarding that immunity comparison? Constructs and elementals are immune to both. Undead benefit from Drain, immune to Alteration. I’m not familiar with the typical immunities for standardized Fey/MC/whatever else.

    Drain vs Enfeeble

There's a balance in the cures; Drain can only be removed via 8th level Purify; Enfeeble can be cured by 20 PP Antidote.* *I mean, Death fixes both.

    Sling use?

@Gorphy Channeling with a sling. Omgosh. I didn’t even think of that and I love it so much.

    Alliance 2.0 Rulebook: Beta 2

While I don’t necessarily disagree with you, I’d remind you that 100% of weapon clearances are the result of a marshal’s best guess. ;)

    Sling use?

I meant purely representational, thus “aesthetic scoop.”

    Resolute vs Massive

The first quote was Bryan’s, regarding that Vengeance cannot be negated in any way. Massive is similar in that it cannot be negated except in specific ways. https://alliancelarp.com/forum/threads/vengeance-vs-resolute.39032/#post-304245

    Resolute vs Massive

No, and there’s precedent for this. It was ruled that you cannot use Resolute to negate Vengeance; the Resolute mechanics are treated as a negation that leave you at 1 Body, not a “reduction” mechanic, even though that’s the thematic idea. As a result, Massive can only be negated by...
