    Magic Item Free Campaigns

See, if Mike's idea for changing Treasure Policy had worked out, there would have been no need to figure out what to do with the portion of policy you wouldn't want anymore in this hypothetical place. His idea (simplified considerably) was that every scroll, component, and catalyst would be...

    Magic Item Free Campaigns

Toddo, I hope you're prepared for the high magic insanity that will happen if you run this. I'll get another job to start saving up for plane tickets if I have to. And I'll start convincing WC folks of the caliber of game you write and run, and bring willing and able folks with me. Back toward...

    Magic Item Free Campaigns

Phedre and Cho Jin Wu arrive, look around, dig through pouches, look at each other and running dive back into the mists screaming. The mists recede as fast as they run, leaving them trapped in personal purgatory. Phedre would learn alchemy just to dose our tea with intoxicates.

    Magic Item Free Campaigns

Racial resists would be *huge* in this kind of campaign.

    What if? (Magic Items)

Honestly, when we first started Catskills (now Asheville) it was a low level, level capped chapter, with a good mix of new to new-ish players, and players who were making a 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th character. (Or, in Ray Nagle's case, like his 22nd ;) ) There were like 12 magic items in game...

Alliance Food For Thought Pt. 1: Cross Classes

...this is supposed to be a theoretical discussion of what *could* be done. Not how spitball ideas would/could effect the current ruleset for the classless skills now.

    Flubberdoop Lore Ideas

That's tough, I know a couple campaigns that already have monsters with that explanation. There was a PC that was turning into one in a plot that crossed a couple chapters, and she *certainly* wasn't as adorable and huggable as the flubberdoops are. Maybe make them an echo of a previous time...

Alliance Food For Thought Pt. 1: Cross Classes

If I could do something like spend build to turn a Parry into a Spell Parry as a templar, it might make the cross-class idea more tempting. It would make sense that someone able to both cast spells and rituals and fight would be able to do that. Or make it high magic only available to templars...

    Magic Inert Race

Drastically changing a race is kind of a big thing... Introducing a new race in the next major rules revision and giving folks the chance to race change in the "magic hiccup" would probably be better PR. I'd have been extraordinarily angry if my primary celestial ritualist was forcibly made...

    Weapon Cores

If you go with the golf club core, fishing pole, or anything that has a taper to it, add a strip of foam tape at the top, or the core will rattle around in the foam and degrade it from the inside, requiring re-foaming more frequently.

    Flubberdoop Lore Ideas

If the spirit takes a Destroy Magic of the appropriate aspect, Linked items are unlinked and Locked items take the Destroy as well. So the Linked items would have the link removed, and the locked items would cease to be.

    Flubberdoop Lore Ideas

They might not want the MIs, components, catalysts or scrolls that come out of treasure policy as they were written in the other thread, but if I were to play one, I'd be hoarding potions, scrolls, and alchemy of all types. Maybe rather than items, they need to consume components, or ritual...

    Weapon Cores

They can be. It depends on the availability of golf clubs in your area, and the preferences of the people making the weapons. I've seen kitespar, fishing poles, golf clubs, bamboo... as long as the material has a little flex and isn't going to shatter into something that will stab your enemy...

    Magic Inert Race

No, but I'd rule that the construct is a magic item being used, and this particular class would be restricted from it.

What's wrong with "I call forth a flame bolt.20 magic flame"

Re: What's wrong with "I call forth a flame bolt.20 magic fl I like that better. It tells you can it can be spell shielded/reflected, because it's magic, and that a cloak/bane flame or resist element can be used on it, because it's flame. And the number is in the damage call.

Magic To Hit- Do we need it?

There was actually a discussion in my house not long ago about taking the "Magic Only to Hit" off the higher level pantherghasts and replacing it with a threshold.

    Magic Inert Race

If I wanted to build an earth templar at some point, I'd consider it strongly. It doesn't match any of the character concepts I'm currently using or musing over, though.

    Would You If You Could?

Just to clarify, identification doesn't always require a Celestial circle. It's just usually the easiest way. I don't think I'd take this option as my primary or secondary (both scholars, the primary is a ritualist), but my tertiary (a high orc fighter) might.

If you had, it would have been so, so interesting. For me. I'm not sure what it might have been for you. <3

    June Event Pre-Reg List

You guys did just fine rescuing that little kid. Riddick did try to steal the kid's dagger, later, though. Lucky you I wasn't a dragon or anything. :wub2:
