    Persistent Damage Cost Change

Sure. And then once again, it has spiraled into completely off topic. So let's get back on track. That has been a persistent issue on the forums. It just becomes a cyclical argument and nothing resolves (again, this is not a 2.0 thing as it is not in the scope). Players will have varying degrees...

    Persistent Damage Cost Change

Folks, we have went well beyond the scope of the OP. Let's get back on topic please. If you want to discuss the merits of where to drop disarm, then a different forum/thread would be appropriate as this is out of the scope of playtesting.

    Persistent Damage Cost Change

@Avaran I understand that view for sure. My only response is the Charging rule on 93 states that if a player can reach out and touch you, you are likely charging. I don't know how long your arms are, but there are not a lot of people that could reach down and grab the weapon away without being...

    Persistent Damage Cost Change

If he was leg bound, has no other weapons or for some reason cannot bend down to retrieve his only weapon. Most fighters will likely have multiple weapons, thrown weapons etc. Even a brand new character should have an extra weapon on them if other players are helping them out. Dropping your...

Should Flurry be a national rule or a local rule?

That is IF a new player sticks around. If a new player comes into game and is overwhelmed and feels like they are just there to get a "boffer beating", they are not likely to come back. First of all, no, we are not telling anyone to "accept it". I've stated that several times. Calgary's main...

    In the ArchMage's Chamber S6

The ArchMage ponders her question for a minute. "Yes. There are several Magi that are understandably interested in the Lux. It still holds many mysteries that we have to unravel. Currently, Magi Rhialto of the Calanhelm Penta deserves the opportunity to head the excursion. This of course leaves...

A Different way to deploy 'Paragons'

Just a quick note as well. When you lose the XP, you would also lose associated Body. A fighter, for instance, would drop 10-20 body depending on the XP cost. @mikestrauss for #3, yes, your level would decrease.

Corrupt - Is this ready for use?

@Saephis I can double check, but I'm more than positive that we discussed this as owners and we did not want players tracking multiple timers (when it came to hitting the rez circle if something was missed). @Polare can you confirm this? Otherwise, we concluded, that having to keep track of...

Poll: What are your overall feelings about the proposed 2.0 rules compared to our current rules v.1.

One thing inherent in a forum setting is there can be a very vocal group that does not like something. People that do, are, for the most part, not really wanting to get into a "war of the words" with others. So a lot of players choose to ignore the forums altogether. This is the main reason we...

    Bind <Legs> Safety Issue

It actually wasn't me who proposed it a couple symposiums ago. I am just one of the "leads" on it as we practice this here in Calgary.

    Bind <Legs> Safety Issue

lol. Well, for one, it did not take us "years". We have just been using it for that long. New players "get it" and are used to it after a full weekend. Players coming in from other LARPs take a couple weekends to get used to it as well. We just remind them if they swing too many times (a quick...

Corrupt - Is this ready for use?

When Corrupt ends, they are no longer Undead. They go back to their "original state" (dead). So if they are given a Life spell and reawaken, then the Rebirth does the same thing. I just think you may have missed that step in the spell. @KyleSchmelz I guess. Not sure why they would not activate...

    Bind <Legs> Safety Issue

So you just "pound into" each other until someone falls over? No grunts to show the pain of a heavy blow, no backing off to mock your opponent's lackluster attempts to defeat you? Seems to me that is missing the point of role-playing. In some instances, absolutely, let the foam fly! But if you...

Corrupt - Is this ready for use?

Well, rebirth only happens at 4:59 of your Death Timer. Corrupt pauses that timer. When Corrupt ends, your Death timer restarts where it was and your Rebirth would go off at 4:59 as it would normally. I hope that is what you were asking about? I was not 100% sure.

Corrupt - Is this ready for use?

I think that is the intent. The "places back to its original..." was mostly to ensure that the PCs death timer was set back to whatever it was before the Corrupt hit. We did not want a PC to have to worry about tracking multiple timers, especially their Death timer. For sure we need to clean up...

    Bind <Legs> Safety Issue

Have been using it for about 4 years now. After a couple minor injuries on ice, snow and rain. Then it became habit in all situations. Now it is extremely common place. We teach it to all of our new players. Yes, we have exceptions. If I am 1 on 1 with a very experienced fighter and we are...

    In the ArchMage's Chamber S6

"Ah, excellent." The ArchMage states as he takes the title of ownership from the Countess. He reads over it, ensuring that all the legalities are set correctly. Pulling a quill from his desk, he dips it in the ever full inkwell and signs his name and title onto the page. Taking some warm wax, he...

    Bind <Legs> Safety Issue

FWIW, we ran our PT this Sunday. Our monsters were told to Bind legs whenever they got the chance (either through spell, or weapon bind) to really test this. We did not have any players feeling unsafe in the combat ,and we ran several scenarios, binding several players. Remember, legs are NOT...

Experiences of a Fighter in 2.0

When it comes to shields I believe it will just "police itself". Meaning players will realize how big a shield they really want/can wield. It allows "commercial" latex shields into game where having specific dimensions prohibit them currently. We tested out all sizes of shields. The larger ones...

    Earth Wands

No, that was my bad. I should have clarified. No matter if players want it "right now" it will take months to go through a process with the owners. It won't happen for 1.3 as we are hoping to have 2.0 out before we would need to revise 1.3.
