Experiences of a Fighter in 2.0

I've said before in my feedback but I will say it again because I think it's important to keep in mind as we get bogged down in mechanics. For every single proposed change I ask myself does this make the game more fun? If the answer is no, there better be some good justification for why it...

Experiences of a Fighter in 2.0

Armor does not scale with weapon damage making it effectively useless in end game scenarios where an entire suit of armor can be eliminated with a single attack. Body also builds slowly enough in the current rules that it cannot keep up with the huge increases in damage from stacking dozens of...

Experiences of a Fighter in 2.0

Kasuni we think a number of ideas from 2.0 that we have seen are great in theory, the execution is just flawed. We have a variety of ideas based on feedback from players from our chapter and others that we think would resolve some of the issues while maintaining the spirit of the new rules...

    Flurry change proposal

I have a proposal for flurry which I believe would help fighters and preserve the intent behind the flurry rule of allowing time for people to call defenses and also make powerful blows more useful. I propose that we apply the flurry 3 rule only to powerful blows, allowing a player to swing...

Experiences of a Fighter in 2.0

This also touches on a larger topic which I might make another thread on which is class balance. From what I have been told in the new rules the idea behind class balance was to create a paper rock scissors game where scholars kill fighters, fighters kill rogues, and rogues kill scholars. Our...

Experiences of a Fighter in 2.0

The exponentially increasing cost of profs makes sustained damage impossible for a fighter which is their bread and butter in the current system. They have been given nothing to compensate for the fact that they are losing this sustained damage except for stacked crit attacks, which are...

Experiences of a Fighter in 2.0

Fighters should not be required to use per day abilities in order to be successful in an offensive encounter. If that's going to be the new standard, then fighters need access to a whole lot more per day abilities than just a handful of slays, eviscerates, stun limbs, and crit attacks. The one...

Addressing critical feedback, burden of proof, and player feedback

I agree with this Kasuni, and would go so far as to say if other chapters are doing this we can post a stickied link with these compiled feedback forms on this forum so it is viewable to all. I think transparency is important, and if other chapters have found issues we might not have seen it is...

Addressing critical feedback, burden of proof, and player feedback

We have created a very similar sheet of combined feedback from our chapter which is a list of issues we have found, and have updated with each round of play testing. Our other play test coordinator Jim (Lagarde) has delivered this directly to our owner Jesse and Polare, but from what I...

Addressing critical feedback, burden of proof, and player feedback

I am creating a different thread for this since the topic was touched on in the thread regarding the changes to bind and I think it warrants its own discussion. I am a playtest coordinator for the Denver chapter. I am receiving an overwhelming amount of feedback from our play testers who are...

Percy you had better not use all that Eska fruit for anything other than a giant barrel of booze, thunderlizards be damned.

    May favored moments!

Wow, what a great event. I am sure I am forgetting some things but I'll do my best. The Fae court chaos and the interactions with various Fae on friday night. Up until the past couple of games I have thought the fae are way too happy, pretty, sex crazed, not so scary monsters. Between...

In need of an earth formalist for Friday night of the upcoming gather

Greetings. I am in need of an earth formalist to spell craft a spirit recall on me for Friday night of the gather. I can provide the scroll, components, and monetary compensation, I just need someone with two ranks of spell crafting high magic to cast it for me. If anyone is available for this I...

Regarding the Fate of Dargok the Unkillable: Context

I think that it is important to note that the necromantic weapon that Dargok used to kill Duke Tiberion was taken up by Dargok before he became undead. We believe it was given to him by Doomwing. This would provide evidence that Dargok had necromantic leanings even prior to his death, and I...

    [.9] Flurry 3

While I understand the desire to say "don't theorycraft, just got to a play test and try it" this is not really doing due diligence as a play tester. That would be like walking into a car dealership, taking a car for a test drive, deciding you liked it and buying it on the spot. A much better...

    [.9] Flurry 3

Wolsey brought this up a bit but I think it should be looked at more closely. Flurry rule when looked at in a vacuum does not sound like a terrible idea. However, when you look at all of the other changes that have been made, combat is going to slow to a stand still, and the only way to...

    [.9] Flurry 3

A weapon swing can move 45+ degrees with a wrist flick. I can easily go from a defensive stance having my sword facing straight up, and use a wrist flick to come down and hit someone in the arm which is almost perpendicular to the original angle of my sword. I have fought Lagarde, (and beaten...

    April favored moments!

Had a great tune at the season opener. Thanks so much to everyone for all the hard work that went in to making this event happen. New site! Cabins were awesome. Having an easily accessible shower at game was wonderful as well as having a kitchen. I also think the communal space created a lot...

    Food/Kitchen/Meals - April 2017

A point against using real $1 coins is that they could be easily mixed up with other IG coin, especially in the dark which means you'd pretty much have to keep them in separate pouches. I'd vote for something more like a poker chip for tavern coin to make it easily distinguishable.

Duly noted, no stealing people's lunch money, just stick around and steal their lunch instead. ;)
