    Dark Elf makeup question

I think that if your sweaty friend wants to play a Dark Elf he is probably fooct. Wearing black grease paint (apply it with a trowl  ) is miserable, even in the winter. Anything which can be removed without harming the skin probably will be sweated off in a couple of hours.

"lightning bolt guy" web redemption on Comedy Central Tosh.0

That was pretty awesome. If only we had a set like the Medieval Times with a professional studio filled with special effects machinery and post production camera magic.

    In game Careers

My primary is a Scholar, and is a Master Potions Maker and Master Scroll Maker (writer) (20 levels of CREATE SCROLLS and 20 levels of CREATE POTIONS), and is almost finished with a full Earth column of spells. It has taken a long time to get here ... so I am not recommending that you try all of...

What does it mean to speak poorly?

Who ever says that Chimps are stupid has never spent time observing the Premak apes linguistic ability; they have a rich culture, a rich emotional life, and can learn to do complex things. They enjoy many of the same things we do, like watching television and playing video games. The fact that a...

    Costume Armor Points

It's not too difficult to make "stealth armor" and not too costly, either. It's great for a Scholar, too. Get some heavy cloth or light canvas. What you are going to do it make a tabard of two facing pieces of canvas, and sew some fender washers inside with a grid pattern to hold the washers in...

What does it mean to speak poorly?

Washoe did pretty darn good with 68 signs - and I am not proposing a hard stop at 100 words ... but with 100 words you can make yourself very well understood with a very small vocabulary ... with some imagination and creativity. Lose all synonyms and antonyms. For example, use FAST as a root -...

What does it mean to speak poorly?

In short -- to "talk like a barbarian" confine yourself to a simple vocabulary with a smaller number of words (say, no more than 100). Use simple grammar: Noun-Verb, Noun-Verb-Noun. Noun-Modifier-Verb. Verb-Modifier. Verb-Modifier-Noun. So, something like. Where you go? Me no like. We go fast...

What does it mean to speak poorly?

Mu assumption: Your facial expressions and posture/body language would be more important than the words you use because most of that sentence would unparsable by the Barbarian - maybe hearing "I find you wawawawa skill wawawawawa pain wawa."

What does it mean to speak poorly?

I have my degree in Linguistics from the University of Rochester. By "interlanguage" I would assume that you are talking about the exposed language of a non-native speaker who is learning to speak that language? e.g. a native speaker of language A who is learning to speak language B? as in...

    Neat Costume Website

It can be hard to find nice medieval clothing for men in XXXL sizes. I got a nice, round collar, button up shirt in black cotton at http://www.tobeapirate.com/ Ignore the eye patch and the red sash, and it's a nice shirt (also available in white) - too many of these other shirts look like the...

    An attempt at betterment

David, I think you might have missed my point -- you might as well go up to a healer and say, "Gadzooks, I have been greviously injured. I am in dire need of a powerful healing potion for 40 Body Points worth of healing." The problem is, we don't deal with Body Point In Game -- that is an OOG...

    An attempt at betterment

I would consider the former to be a low level form of meta-gaming, and it's a little bit cheesy IMHO Tha latter is most appropriate to what this game is about -- why else have to take the time to start First Aid in order to ask the OOG question "how many body points are you down" before knowing...
