2018 Springtime Mod Day Thanks

Traceroo

Rogue
Great big thanks to our whole community of players for supporting the 2018 Springtime Mod Day! This is one of the most challenging events of the whole year to run; in some ways, it takes even more energy than running a traditional weekend-long event. Therefore Team Daedalus, your Acarthia Plot Team, is so very grateful to every single person who pitches in to NPC, help keep our heads together, straighten out and clean up our new Monster Camp, for every little piece of help you give!

Say thanks to these people, your fellow PCs, for stepping up to NPC for all of us:

Adam Petersen
– Making his triumphal return to Alliance after a break, and sprinting from the cabin under construction all the way down to the parking lot to give Jeff Loats a run for his money! At the end of an exhausting weekend, Adam still spared some energy to do a lot of cleanup of our Monster Camp on Sunday, which the staff super appreciates in particular.

Billy Dodge – NPCed all day, both days, in every run but the one he PCed. Billy is among our most regular NPC volunteers from among the PCs, and we super appreciate his help every time!

Bobby Chapin – Brought to life Tixon Micklemast, the chief builder for Stormkeep in Charming

Bria Roberts – A gosend! Stepped in last minute on Sunday morning to study a complex role for the Scions’ run. Additionally, was so helpful all weekend with just problem spotting and solving!

Brian Lambert – Probably the single most reliable volunteer in this entire game! If I had 10 Brians, I could rule the world!

Chris Glascock – Also stepped up last minute on Sunday morning to study a role in the Scions’ mod. Was responsible for many of your Favorite Moments mentioned in your PC mods :)

Dan Begnoche – Learn who Dan is! He’s one of our regulars, and he’s already requested the days off work for every Alliance event this year. He is a real treasure to us!

Eric Steinkamp – CRACKED UP both the Warchester mod as Brutegash Ironsides, and the Scions as the drunken worker fired from his job at the keep for incompetence

Jaime DeSensi – Jaime is one of our visitors from the east coast, out here from Pittsburgh. She’s scouting out a potential move to Denver, so be nice to her! Brought to life Talar Tratheon of the Port Tyrok Merchants Guild.

Jim Galford – Jim wasn’t planning to NPC and made the trip out early especially to handle expertly a lot of detailed information for Myrone D’Acarthia of the Bookaneers from Port Tyrok for Warchester

John Fawkes – John stole the show as both Lagarde’s sarcastic badgerkin father, and a series of annoying bats over jumpy stones

Josh Alexander – If you don’t know yet know Josh, you must be new around here! He’s one of our most senior NPCs, always skilled, always reliable, always cheerful – AND he’s helping to build our cabins!

Karol Jolly – You may not have recognized Karol since she’s gone bombshell blonde and is ROCKIN it! Karol is indefatigable, and always such a ray of sunshine backstage!

Katie Craver – Fought all day Saturday and into the night!

Kim Whitehead – Another of our guests from the east coast, out from Atlanta. She packed a full suit of amazing looking armor and drove it across the country to bring the BGA-familiar role of high ogre Captain Katla of the Port Tyrok City Watch to life – and was PERFECT, right off the pages!

Mandi Markowitz – Spent her Saturday evening studying up as an understudy for a complex role when Taylor lost his voice before a big roleplay scene for the Scions on Sunday. Really saved our bacon!

Nissa Osheim – One of our most consistent PC volunteers, Nissa is so great about checking in with individuals who look tired or frazzled, and offering a hug or shoulder rub in addition to beating down our enemies when we need it!

Padme Miren – Team Daedalus would just like to remind that we still haven’t forgiven Padme for moving over to PC because she’s so wonderful, dedicated, and spirited backstage! We’d loved having her back for a visit all weekend this event!

Sean O'Loughlin - Sean's been hearing about Alliance since the end of our 2017 season, hanging out with our players, picking up on details of the game, going to fighter practices, and awaiting (finally) an actual event! He brings a lot of fighting expertise from Amtgard, and we're delighted to have him backstage with us for awhile!

Shane Proctor
– Shane was another of the major roleplay NPCs for Warchester, taking a stretch of a role in which we don’t usually get to see his acting ability: a blue collar dock worker with a chip on his shoulder against the wealthy. Also, surprise, Shane, you’re the villain of this story!

Siren Ebright – Siren does a lot of writing, and is training to be a Marshal. This weekend she not only demonstrated her usual roleplay excellence (“These are our ‘hello’ swords!”) she also mixed it up a bit in some combat encounters! Siren is one of the most versatile and dedicated volunteers for our chapter, keep thanking her!

William Goldberger – The third of our adventurers out from across the country, William is also from Atlanta. He mixed it up as one of our uncannily cheerful bats out on the jump stones.

Zach Rossiter – Also a ray of sunshine backstage, Zach NPCed all day on Saturday, keeping things going!

Next, I’d like to make a special callout for our two MVPs for this event: Taylor Kaiman, and Dia Campbell! Taylor stepped up to stat encounters for us before the event because we had a Tetris game of so many Plotsies PCing on various adventures. He acted as Monster Master to wrangle NPCs and get everyone briefed. Even after he lost his voice on Day 1, he came back to continue to roleplay, monster, and Marshal throughout the entirety of Day 2. We’re really grateful to Taylor!

Dia, meanwhile, helped put together some amazing costumes for her roles and Taylor’s before the event. She took on a number of complex roles which required study of a ton of information. When Nissa surprised Plot and her group with a beautiful gift of a plaque for the Scions, Dia handled the presentation to make sure that moment was as special as the gift itself merited. Then after all that, Dia pretty much single-handedly managed the clean-up process for Monster Camp to get everybody out on time and home for dinner on Sunday. We couldn’t have put together this even so successfully without help from both Dia and Taylor this year!

Of course I don’t want to forget a single member of our hard-working staff. If you were unaware, most of our game staff takes off only the month of December each year. They’ve been hard at work putting the game together since January 1. Toss out a random Thank You to our staff when you see them for all the days and weeks between events that make our game as loveable as it is:
