A handful of questions for those with time

I have a few game questions:
-----------------------------------------------
1. What are the laws of Andar, the attachment doesn't work anymore?

2. What can gobbies be spent on other than monthly blankets? I found a forum post from 2005 but was curious about an up to date list.

3. What kind of musical instruments are there in Andar (what type of instruments are acceptable for the genre)?

4. I have pretty much fallen in love with this game. Other than donations what can I do to help?

5. How does one go about purchasing a ship? It is an important in character goal for Marcus and Alcandar feels obliged to help the captain without a ship.

Find out in game. :) There are copies of the laws you can acquire; just ask around. Bryan/Polare should definitely be able to help you since you are his apprentice.

Off the top of my head, Goblin Stamps can also be spent on the following:

* Back-blanket a missed event
* Coin or production items (up to 100 GS per logistics period I believe)
* Magic items. You have to purchase the scrolls and all of the components you need for the effect (i.e. if you want an item that gives you a Bane Greater Command 1/day for a year you need to purchase the Bane scroll and 4 components. If you want it to last longer than a year you need to get the Preserve scroll as well so it will last 5 years.) Any magic item acquired via goblin stamps is considered Local Chapter Only (LCO) which basically means some chapters may not allow it in their chapter.

Basically any instrument that can be played without power as far as I am aware. (As a side note, I think it would be awesome for someone to bring a sax and start playing some medieval jazz, whatever that might be)

There are lots of things!

* Write plot! (such as job board quests, lair cards, game-day modules, small plot arcs, etc.). The plot team will review them and may decide to award goblin stamps if they use your stories. They may alter them a bit to fit their world, but more ideas and plot are generally accepted. Just keep in mind player information vs. character information in case you stumble upon something that you wrote; we don't want meta-gaming.

* Advertise! If you can think of good ways to advertise and are willing to execute them let the staff know and they will work with you to coordinate something. Seriously, we always need more players.

* NPC at gamedays! They're close, they're short, and it gives you an opportunity to see other ways of playing the game. Alternatively, double-hooking at events is also a great way to help out.

* If you have a skill that you think would be useful (painting/drawing for custom portraits or maps, professional make-up skills, computer hacking skills for making neato custom graphics, mechanical aptitude skills and spare time for neato traps or mechanical things, etc.) just let staff know how you think you can contribute and I am sure the staff can find something for you to do.

* Become a part of the world! Really, in-game, being a visibly helpful person or standing out in the player community helps keep new players and helps the suspension of disbelief for all players. Good ways of standing out include developing an iconic role such as a minstrel (since you asked instruments) or a bartender or a merchant. Or be helpful of new players by helping them learn the rules, informing them of who is who, etc. Kind of like how Bryan always apprentices new players (it isn't all about forming a personal army!).

Yes!

Hope this helps. :)

As the laws were posted previously but now the attachment is busted (an OOG problem) I'll be posting the laws so people can view them, I know people have asked before and the posting was IG and public, so I'll toss them back up.

So I am unclear on the magic weapons for gobbies process. There is a list price for the ability but I am unclear if I need scrolls/reagants. It's all so confusing. :? Can someone give me an example of how many gobs I would need to get a +1 damage Earth carrier blade? (I tend to understand examples with brief explanation better.) Thanks all for the education.

So I'm going to make a few quick estimations, since I don't have the ritual database in front of me, but it will at least give you an idea of the goblin point cost of an item like that.
You need at least two scrolls for that:
Earth Aura (480 gobbies)
Damage Aura (540 gobbies)

Plus the requisite components.
Earth Aura is about 6 components
Damage Aura +1 is about 7ish.
So 13ish components, at 90 gobbies each = 1170
For a total of 2190. Ish.

That would last for one year. If you want it to last longer (say, 5 years, the only other option) that's another scroll (Preserve Duration, 540) and like 4 components, making your total about 3090. So, estimate about 3000 gobbies for that, plus a few extra.

Now, that sounds ridiculously high, and it is, but that's the point. Your example is a very, very desirable item, and magic weapons like that are supposed to be rare. Personally, I think the best thing you can do with gobbies is to buy monthly blankets and games that you miss. Build can't be lost or stolen, and it always transfers to other chapters, unlike magic items.
