A possibility

If I were to run an overnight camping mod up the back trails on Friday night of the event that would require you to carry your gear into the hills with you, how many people would be interested? I mean taking tents, food, and adventure gear up into the hills away from town to investigate some thingy or other (which would be found out about in game).

Any interest at all?

Is the bear catholic?

Oh yes yes yes yes yes I would totally dig that. I'll even go alone if I had to.

I would be up for that, but obviously we would need to know whether to bring tents beforehand :)

I don't know if it's possible, but it might also be of interest to find this out IG beforehand so we can coordinate tents and such. If Polare and Solomon both know they might need to go camping on Friday night, they'll arrange 1 large tent for the two of them. If they don't know, they'll each get stuck bringing a tent.

Good point, Bryan. I'd also like to pipe in with the thought that if it's pouring down rain or freezing cold, popularity would go waaay down on that idea. If that happened I'd vote to move it to the next event so as to not get people sick or anything like that. That, or just skip the camping part and make it into a many long hours of hiking there and back adventure. I don't mind the excercise and then the party has to take breaks and whatnot into account, which is a cool dynamic that doesn't get used much.

I have a few tents also I might be interested in going and lucky. I Have a truck I am driveing to the next event so I can transport all my tent poles and such. Bad news I live in oregon so anybody elses tents I cannot bring. Unless they live in oregon.

So we are talking about a backpack trip. Yes?

I'd totally be down for that!

Sign me up.

Dude, didn't you see Bryan and I were already going? You weren't gonna be given a choice :D

Although I will not be there this coming event, in general I would be all over the idea. So if it ends up getting moved to another event, or you decide to do it again, count me in.

Hey, an extra healer is always a good thing to have along, only thing, i dont have a tent so if anybody is willing to share a tent with a healer, i am game.

I have two large tents, one with a small tent attached.
I would be willing to loan out. these are family size tents and can hold 4-6 people. Brand new in bags.

I will not be hiking or going away from town on friday night, but if someone wants to take them to the event they are avalible.

YESH>>>>!!!

need any NPC's to make it work?
I have camping gear galor including food making stuff, and 4-8 person tent.

ROFL

Right on. :)

Backpacking sounds fun. If anyone needs a 9 by 12 army tent, just ask me. It can fit five people, with room to stand up and walk around. I have others, though they be a bit smaller.

I will chime up on the other end, unless I have a really good IG reason, I would rather stay in town. I just dont like tents that much, and I dont think I have one anymore.

Just as a note, you guys do realize you would be:

*Carrying your gear uphill on a trail while having to deal with the possibility of attack from various "woodland creatures"
*Setting up camp at a designated rest spot while having to deal with the possibility of attack from various "woodland creatures"
*Eating cold food, since there are no fire pits up there, while having to deal with the possibility of attack from various "woodland creatures"
*camping out of doors while having to deal with the possibility of attack from various "woodland creatures"
*investigating whatever is there while having to deal with the possibility of attack from various "woodland creatures"... and whatever is in there...

You get the picture? This is not something for the faint of body or heart. As described by someone, this is *hard core* adventuring. It's an expirement designed for a few people to go on, and certainly not the entire town. If it works, there will likely be more such things in the future. At this point in time, I am looking at June, since the spring rains seem to be in full effect and I expect April will be damp. This will also give light later into the evening.

Thus far, I have the following slated for possible participation -

Solomon
Avaran
Polare
Gregor
Amelie
Ellie

Did I miss anyone? If each of you could email me at dave(at)neroseattle(dot)com to confirm interest, I would appreciate it.

Thanks!
Dave

I wont be at the April event, but I am hoping to make it to June, and I think that is when Dave is planning to run it, so all should be well on my end. (So long as my internship starts the day after the event and not the day before, which hopefully I should know soon)
