A theft to report

My friends, an ancient relic has been stolen from the Rockfists. It was taken from my house as I rested and it seems that whoever wanted this item was both a skilled thief and knew what they wanted as they left other items behind. Please, anyone who wishes to help me... I would have your help.

Effram Rockfist

Effram,

What are these 'other items' they left beind, maybe they thought it was a good trade? Course it could also be goblins, I've seen em take things they don't need before, don't ask me why. I'd come help but I've been lost for awhile and the people keep telling me I'm in somewhere called 'Alboria', I'm not sure how long it'll take to get back, I tried dropping some bed crumbs, but its been windy so I'm not sure that'll work.

Durl.

Whatever or whoever took these drums... these are dark times ahead.

Recently, a group of us were asked by one of the subchiefs of the Rockfists to go seek access to our ancient burial grounds, to secure a burial plot for Effram among those most honored of the Rockfists. Those grounds are within the lands now held by the CrossPick Dwarves. The CrossPicks allowed us access to the burial grounds. What we found there... we found a hundred graves, all disrupted... they all looked like the bodies of the high orc chieftans crawled out of their graves... and were rifted out of the graveyard.

One hundred of the most honored, most feared high orc chieftans in the history of the Rockfist nation... walking again... to the beat of those drums...

Prepare for one hell of a fight.

Oh, dear. And I thought returningk to Briarpess would be a relief.

I shall be dhere swifter dhan dhe moon's sphere to help you. Where else could I be?

Wait, if all the rockfists dead ancestors came and took their drum back, is it really a theft? I mean it is the ancestor's drum right? Now if they have decided to become all undead we should prolly bash em before they make trouble, but it wouldn't be fair tas blaim em fer taking back their own drum, specially if it means alot to em.

I don't think the undead took the drum... whoever is controlling them probably did... either Lady Death, or whoever or whatever is controlling her...

The drum is indeed my peoples property and these creatures would most likely be undead... if they are.. then as Chieftan I do not recognize their claim to life or the propertie of these lands and peoples ... they must be returned to their graves. I would aks that anyone with tracking skills contact me or anyone with ties to the Bear Tribe so we can look for this threat and meet this threat proactivly.

The drum can only be used by a true High Orc... but it was not stolen by a dead creature... if Stoneskull speaks true then we may indeed be faced with a great threat...but we are as strong as ever and though High Orcs are though... the living warriors of the rockfists and adventurers of Briarpass are much tougher and will always be.

I will take what warrirors we have left...I will meet this threat as I must and revel in battle as I did as a young warrior... Stoneskull.. will you join me and your clan?... Master Durl will accept our kinship to meet these old warriors bones with your own shield and sword? what of the rest of you?

I believe Major Kagan has returned, more powerful than ever. His body was never recovered after the assault on the Stonebiter encampment. For those that don't know him, Major Kagan is a high orc necromancer that was a part of those that turned against the Rockfists. Who else could possibly use the drum?

Effram,

I always stand with the Rockfist clan.

Effram,

Durl is no master, I travel to learn and perhaps someday become a master of the skills I practice, I think the closest title if you must use one might be man at arms, or soldier, everyone back home jes called me Durl though. I'll be glad to help you get rid of these guys if you'd like, but I don't know how long it will take for me to find my way back there, People I've talked to say that I'm north of the 'Granite City' so if anyone has directions, that would be helpful.

Durl

I 'ave seen maps of Albor, Durl. Jus' follow dhe winds sout' and to dhe east and you shall find Briarpass. Dhat and dhe sound of dangly Romani baubles as I too wander into town. I 'ave friends dhere dhat I miss. Per'aps I could be of assistance somehow.

Thanks marcena, now...which way was south again?

I can only guess dhat dhe sun sets dhe same way everyvhere....watch dhe sun go down and walk in dhe opposite direction of dhe setting sun. Dhis is east. Now to go sout', you know dhat star in dhe sky, dhe one dhat ne'er changes in dhe sign of a big ladle? Walk away from dhat star for dhat will guide you nort'. Or if travel you by dhe lands, look to dhe trees. If dhe moss grows facing dhe side you are walking, turn around. Is alvays on dhe nort' side of a tree.

Sometings I pick up from an elven friend of mine a long time ago. 'ope it 'elps, Durl! Bring your souvenier game wit' you! I would I play a round or two wit' you! :)

And do you use alchemy? I am looking to sell much of what I 'ave.

Marcena,

I'm not much of a guy for alchemy, those 'special' drinks make me too sleepy. I'm also not much of a collector, but maybe Durl's friend Arkemides will be interested, he loves playing the collection game.

-Durl

Yeah he's a pretty nice guy like tab is, although he's much more active in the fighting and stuff.

We are getting off topic though and its not nice to ignore honorable guys like Effram.

Maybe we could find a guy with a flute, or harp or something and start one of them music playin things, then meybe the guy with the drums will show up?

-Durl.

I do nye tink dhat eet work dhat way. Would be nice dhough. Anyvay, you are right. Do we know what dhe drum people want?

Someone stole the drums to enhance the high orc chieftains' abilities, and make the Rockfists weaker in the face of their enemies.

* an exited almost panting voice, recognized as Joe Thatcher*
