Acidic blood, part deux

"A weapon that has been strengthened can withstand attacks in the same way as if a Shatter or Destroy effect was cast at the weapon."

Is this intended to expend one strengthening per time that the creature has stated "Acidic Blood", one per battle (regardless of how many creatures with Acidic Blood were struck or how many times they were struck), once per creature, or what?

As noted in the description in the rulebook:

...After the battle is over, the NPC will take all weapons tags from anyone who struck it with
a weapon, as the acid has destroyed them... A weapon that has been strengthened can withstand attacks in the same way as if a Shatter or Destroy effect was cast at the weapon...

Acidic Blood does a single Shatter/Destroy at the end of the battle.
