Dear ADL,
We hope this message finds you well. There are three major announcements that we need to share with you. It's been a challenging time for all of us, and we want to express our heartfelt compassion for what we, as a community, have been through lately.
First, as we are all trying to heal and strengthen our community, we deeply value the series of Tavern Nights we had planned for this summer and believe they could make a positive impact. Recently, we received some feedback that people are concerned about coming to the Tavern Night out of fear of retaliation for simply attending.
Considering the circumstances, we believe it's in the best interest of everyone to cancel the event, even in spite of already financially securing use of Thane's Table for the day, intending it for exclusive use of the community. If you have already paid for the event, please reach out to us so we can work on processing a timely and full refund of your event fee.
Second, we are also writing to inform you about a decision that has been carefully considered for the best interest of the National Event. After thoughtful deliberation, Alliance Denver LARP has decided to step away from our co-hosting role for the National Event. We have already spoken to the National Owners and Crossroads about this decision.
Moving forward, we believe that it is in the best interest of the event and the community to allow the current co-host, Crossroads LARP, to be given all the monies donated. We have full confidence in their capabilities and commitment and have taken the steps to transfer complete control, financially and logistically, to Tab and his team. We extend our gratitude to Crossroads LARP for their collaboration and dedication throughout the planning process.
Third, with profound sadness and after much reflection, we regret to announce that Alliance Denver LARP will be closing its doors at the conclusion of the 2023 season. This decision was not taken lightly, and it weighs heavily on our hearts to deliver this news to such a passionate and devoted community.
Over the years, Alliance Denver LARP has brought together countless adventures, forging friendships and memories that will be cherished for a lifetime. We are immensely grateful for the support and dedication you have shown, and it is with a sense of deep respect that we undertake this bittersweet transition.
As we embark on this journey of closure, we want to extend our commitment to those Denver LARPers who wish to continue being part of this extraordinary community. We recognize the need for proper closure and are determined to provide a space for those who seek it. Your commitment and love for LARPing deserve to be acknowledged and cherished.
However, we must also address a more challenging aspect. To those individuals who have consistently sought to sew descent and undermine our collective efforts to conclude this chapter with dignity and grace, we must regrettably take a different approach. Our community is built on mutual respect and a shared passion for the LARP experience. Those who seek to undermine this spirit are not aligned with the values that have guided Alliance Denver LARP throughout its existence.
As we mourn the closing of this chapter, we must stay true to our principles and ensure that the LARP community remains a supportive and positive environment. Those who have contributed to the destruction of this cherished space will not be allowed to bask in the flames they helped ignite. We kindly request that such individuals refrain from engaging with our community further. And if you will not respect our last wishes, then you lose the privilege of being a part of the ADL Discord community as we try to say goodbye to one another.
It is our heartfelt hope that the majority of you will continue to be part of the very last leg of this incredible journey. Together, we can preserve the spirit of Alliance Denver LARP and create lasting memories that will echo through time.
We will be announcing further details about the closing events and opportunities for a proper farewell in the coming weeks. Please stay tuned for updates and join us in making this last season an unforgettable celebration of the adventures we've shared.
Thank you all for being part of this unforgettable LARPing experience. You, Denver, have been the best part of this and those memories will always be what we hold onto. We remain committed to fostering a community that upholds the ideals of camaraderie and respect.
With heavy hearts and unwavering appreciation,
LARP Mom and LARP Dad
