Alliance Seattle will be hosting a four day long event from Thursday, August 29th to Monday, September 2nd, over Labor Day weekend in 2013. Why stop at three days when four is even bigger?

This event will take place in Seattle's usual game setting, the Valley of Ghosts. This event will mark approximately two years since the adventurers from Andar and across the Mists have discovered the Valley of Ghosts and begun delving into the secrets it holds. Strewn across the Valley are the remnants of an ancient civilization that hold the key to unlocking the mysteries of this secluded land. The natives had no knowledge of magic until the outsiders came and were kept ignorant and docile by a frightening enemy with glowing red eyes that stalked the night in the countryside surrounding the single known settlement within the Valley. A Blight fell upon the the small town of Tarndale in the early Spring, stunting the crops and threatening the survival of the small community. Plans to expand farther along Silent Lake to beat the spread to the plague and to settle with the newly awoken protectors of the Valley have come to fruition, but in this new place lie new ruins and new secrets to be uncovered. Come join us for Episode 10 ofThe Valley of Ghosts: Woods!

The "brass tacks" details (feel free to ask questions, we'll incorporate the answers into this informative post):

The event will be held at Deception Pass State Park ELC. This is not our usual site, but it has similar amenities. There are 14 PC cabins that each sleep 10, plus cabin/enclosed areas for NPCs, Plot, Monster Camp, and module space. There is a tavern building with a commercial kitchen and walk-in refrigerator. Cookware and flatware are included. All cabins have heat, light, and electricity, as well as bunks with mattresses (but no bedding). (For people who are familiar with the other ELCs, the cabins are the size of the ones at Brooks Memorial, but set up more like the original Millersylvania cabins, without the bed-drawers). There are several real bathrooms with running water, flush toilets, and showers (stalls that share a common exit). Environmental Learning Centers (ELCs) are summer camps that are part of their State Park, but they are significantly removed from the other parts of the site so that there are not campers or hikers who can wander into the area.

The nearest large airport is SeaTac International Airport (SEA). The ELC is approximately two hours from the airport, in the direction that nearly everyone will have to be traveling, so it should be fairly simple to arrange for a ride to and from the event. The airport is just south of Seattle and the site is to the north along the major freeway that runs the entire west coast (I-5) so shopping pre-event should be very accessible.

We will have Opening Ceremonies at approximately 9pm on Thursday to give people time to arrive on site before we call game on. We anticipate that not everyone will be able to make it on Thursday, and so we will have a rolling lay on for people who arrive on Friday and someone actively staffing Logistics for a significant portion of the evening. We will otherwise be running normally, so if you will be arriving late, please respect the players who are already In-Game by unloading your gear discreetly then returning your car to the regular parking area away from the PC cabins.

Please pre-register for the event by August 15th by filling out our Logistics Team's handy online form. Should an event fall between the pre-registration deadline and the date of our event, please pre-register on-time anyways with the skills/spells on your anticipated character card and have your card sent to Seattle as soon as possible after the event. We would rather have to deal with an alteration to a pre-registration than start a new one from scratch, so if something changes after the event (you gain/lose a magic item, your character permanently dies, you are race change/spirit forged, etc), please send us an email and keep us abreast of the situation.

You may Pre-Pay this event by using Paypal to send $98.10 to allianceseattle@gmail.com or by using the link on our website. Don't forget to include your own and your character's name in the "Instructions to the seller" field. You may Pay-no-Play this event in the same manner. Do not send your pre-registration to this address; pre-registration is only accepted via our Logistics Team's online form. Pre-Pay pricing ends August 15th. In order to qualify for the Pre-Pay price (so that you do not owe money at the door), you must also Pre-Register. Pre-Registration must be received by August 15th. Even if you miss the pre-registration deadline, Logistics may be able to still prepare for you, so please pre-register anyways! We must receive character cards from out of chapter visitors in order to provide you a character card so that you may PC, so inform your character's home chapter that you'll need your character sent to us. Please send character cards to logistics@alliance-seattle.com (but do not send your preregistration there!)

If you Pre-Register by August 15th but do not Pre-Pay, your at-the-door price will be $105. If you neither pre-pay nor pre-register the cost at-the-door will be $115.
Basic Pages' cost will be $42.50 Pre-Pay, $50 if only Pre-Registered, or $60 at-the-door, while Advanced Pages' cost will be $58.50 Pre-Pay, $65 if only Pre-Registered, or $75 at-the-door. If you are not certain whether you are bringing a Basic or Advanced Page please check out the Seattle and Oregon Page Policy before the game.

NPCing is free, but please still let us know if you plan to attend by pre-registering as an NPC. We will award NPCs not only Goblin Stamps for NPCing, but an additional Restricted item pick as well. We will eventually open a private NPC board for this event so that anyone who is NPCing can get access to event information pre-game. If you intend to NPC and would like to be on the NPC meal plan make sure that your pre-registration is completed by August 22nd. You may not buy into the NPC Meal Plan if we don't know you are coming! The NPC meal plan costs $35. Please include in your pre-registration if you have any food allergies. Seattle Guild NPCs are assumed to be attending and buying into the meal plan unless we are informed otherwise, but you still need to pre-register! We do not currently have a PC meal plan, but if that changes we will announce it. Similarly, if you have a specific interest in cooking or being part of the cooking team for this event, let us know so that we can gauge the feasibility of establishing such a plan.

Alliance Seattle's Transfer Policy allows in Restricted and LCO items that can be produced within the ritual system. Items with any effect that cannot normally be produced will be denied in its entirety. Alliance Seattle has no local rules, effects, or deliveries, but we enforce a number of clarifications that have not been made Nationally and a number of flavor/customer service additions are in effect at our games. Alliance Seattle does not use the Page Policy example described within the rulebook, but we have our very own policy that we share with Alliance Oregon that governs underage players and non-combatants, and we encourage you to take a look at them before game. You do not need an active Alliance Seattle membership to PC or NPC, only to spend goblin stamps on purchasing blankets (monthlies or missed games).

Other chapter stats that people tend to be curious about: Our current (April 2013) APL is about 15 with roughly a Boltzmann distribution from 1st to 45th level. Our events normally have approximately 80 people, so we anticipate easily breaking 100 at this event. Last event our PC to NPC ratio was just over 2:1, and we'd like to keep it that way.

We hope you can make it out to our longest event ever and help make it the most awesome spectacle it can be!
(TL;DR - OMG 4-day! You should totally come!)
