AMA LCO Effects

Shadow
To help bring the emersion and presence of Shadow to life, Alliance MA will have a Local Chapter Only (LCO) Effect for places that are filled with shadow. This effect represents the pull on a character's mind as they try to fight against the taint of Shadow. Shadow tries to pull strength from those it deems as a threat and those that are strong of spirit. Shadow is ever changing and trying to draw what strength it can from those that enter; the parts of the mind it affects and strength it tries to draw differ in different areas.

Shadowed (Location Effect)
Game Effect: While within an area that is noted as Shadowed, characters have reduced access to specific abilities. Shadowed locations block access to a set of character abilities; these abilities cannot be expended directly, via Ritual items, or used to fuel Ritual effects. The abilities that are blocked for a given location will be conveyed by the marshal of the encounter.

Shadowed Areas do not affect characters of level 10 and lower.

Recoil
Some powerful monsters in Tyndarus are able to flex their body and affect melee attackers with their power. To represent this power Alliance MA will be using the following Local Chapter Only Effect.

Recoil (Monster Ability)
Game Effect: When a creature with Recoil is struck by a melee attack, the character using Recoil calls “Recoil <qualifier> <effect>”. The melee attacker takes the qualified effect as if it was a targeted strike delivery against them. Recoil is not a defensive and cannot be combined with a defensive. The attacker may defend against this ability with any appropriate defense against the qualified effect.

Recoil is an involuntary activation and can be activated while unconscious, imprisoned, or dead.
