An invitation arrives at the OPH orphanage. It reads:
To The Carers and Kepers of the novel Orphanage along Trenet Lane
Dearest Newcomers,
You have made Hearth and Home in Pauper's Launch far too long for us to not have shared a spot of tea.
I wish to correct this.
Please find this as a formal invitation to a breakfast tand and nosh during the morning of the upcoming Market in Whitehaven.
Yours Sincerly,
Governess Sadie

Friend Sadie,
We are glad you have taken an interest in the commitment and resilience we bring to the people of the Launch and embrace your well-wishing in these troubling times. As a fellow champion of the downtrodden and weak, we welcome you to break your fast with us. Do you know Café Vertueuse at the top of Peace Lane? It is a comfortable nook where we can both feel at ease, safe from the heat and trouble of the day.
On a personal note, we applaud your own work in Strawman’s Market. We too have answered the call to protect younglings with no other recourse. We share a common and powerful bond forged in the pressures of adversity and tempered by the flame of love. You, of anyone, fully understand the lengths to which those who care for the weakest among us will strive to provide and protect the Innocent.
We look forward to sharing our insights with you on how we can both better the world for all the Children of Pauper’s Launch.
With Respect,
Housemother Adlao
