Announcement on the Respite

Gandian Ravenscroft

Knight
Chicago Staff
Marshal
(The following notice is posted in public gathering places all over Shademarch barony by messengers wearing split green and violet.)

Those along the Corrupt line,

The Respite has long been known to the people of Gaden to be a time when the Corrupt cease to advance against us, bringing our constant war to a pause for a short time and allowing us to strengthen our forces and safely mourn those we have lost. This period of peace has been strictly enforced for generations, for we have feared that breaking such peace would spark retribution from the Corrupt and deny us our time to fortify.

Recently, information gathered by the Vanguard and the Adventuring community has informed us that the Respite is just as much an opportunity for the Corrupt to pull back and rebuild as it is for the people of Gaden. This means that it is not only a time when the Corrupt are not able to advance to their fullest, but also when they are vulnerable to an extent.

Therefore, with the Respite once again upon us, let it be known that the restriction against attacking the Corrupt during the Respite has been lifted by His Royal Majesty until further notice. Efforts will be taken to refortify as they always have been, though combat operations against the Corrupt will continue as able during the Respite and no punishment shall be meted to those who organize or partake in such endeavors.

To win a war, a nation needs to be willing to press an advantage, and the Respite is too valuable an opportunity to ignore.

In service to Gaden,
- Cyrus Westguard
Baron of Shademarch
